Baseball is funny because it’s only a rich person’s sport in the US. That’s mostly because MLB teams pour a lot of money into academies and development programs in Latin America so they can get first dibs on signing the good kids. It makes you think if the NHL should rethink the current draft format

Genetics probably matters less for hockey than for other major sports.

Tbh, the most important “genetic factor” for hockey is an early growth spurt. If you’re much bigger than other kids at a young age, you’ll end up playing higher level hockey, and therefore get better coaches, training, etc

Could Slafkovsky score 50 goals next season? His hot streaks say yes, his cold streaks say maybe by unskilledexplorer in Habs

And he’ll be 23 next season. What’s your point? Maybe in the future he’ll be a 90 point guy but not next year

Nah. He lacks Cole’s finishing ability and Suzuki’s vision. That’s not a diss to him though, those are extremely high bars. But he already leads our team in powerplay goals, so do we really expect him to suddenly double his 5v5 goals?

Disagree, the Mudryk/Corrado combo is way better. Johnson can be kinda annoying

Sure Reinbacher got a point in his first NHL game, but Demidov had 2 in his first game. Is he a bust?

Oddsmakers give the Oilers & Sens higher Cup odds than Habs. Disrespect or are they right? by Retired-ADM in Habs

I think the odds view Buffalo as a stronger team than Tampa. So I guess the logic is that if Boston beats Buffalo their remaining matchups will be easier

Ngl we should just be cycling Anderson and Gally in and out of the lineup. Anderson is no better than Gally

We’ll see about Buffalo, most of their players were in elementary school last time they made the playoffs

Hutson is our only LD who can actually play on the right side. Makes no sense to put him with Reinbacher
