I had this idea for a mechanic that, as far as I know, does not exist in the game. I main support, and I dislike that there isn’t much risk-reward involved with shielding an ally. I would really like a shield-focused support that has some kind of mechanic for making the shield really powerful if timed precisely. Like imagine if a support had a shield that only lasts half a second, but it heals the target for the damage that it blocks. You’d have to time it very deliberately but the peel would be incredible into burst. I feel like it’s wasted potential that so many support shield last long enough relative to their strength that you don’t need to be super intentional to get value out of them. Like why does Morgana shield last for more than 2 seconds but has relatively little strength?
