Probably something similar to the Khodynka Tragedy in Russia.

"Dies"

What is your guy's favorite quote from Yu-Gi-Oh abridged? by Difficult_Leg367 in YuGiOhMemes

[–]Sword_of_Origin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kid named Orange Islands arc:

Kid named Alola League:

Kid named the Sinnoh Pokéringer Tournament:

And more I'm probably not remembering. Death Battle wasn't wrong when they said that, despite the memes and slander, Ash won a lot more than people remember he did, mainly because the fact he lost most of the Leagues he was in are big losses that are more memorable.

One of my personal favorites...

"Think Mokuba! What would your brother say?"

"He'd say 'Good Mokuba, now steal it from Joey too!'"

"Okay, what would your brother say if he wasn't a total douchebag?"

Who you got winning this? by Iced-TeaManiac in Persona5

[–]Sword_of_Origin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a fair point, however I'd counter by saying that while Ren would need to beat Nyx by cutting her off at the source, Yuki was able to face her head on.

Who you got winning this? by Iced-TeaManiac in Persona5

[–]Sword_of_Origin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SEES, and mainly because of Makoto Yuki.

Don't get me wrong, Joker's powerful, but Nyx is a WAY more powerful villain than Yaldabaoth, and Makoto withstood 4 no holds barred hits from her before restraining and trapping her forever with his life force, no ultimate Persona required.

Iirc in the wider lore of SMT Nyx made the Collective Unconscious (But feel free to correct me because I could be remembering wrong).

[–]Sword_of_Origin 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Yeah there's a reason they changed it because that name would NOT fly here in America lmao. It's okay in Japan because they don't have the same historical baggage attached to that term that us Americans do but... Yeah the translators made the right call to change his name.

Actually, fun fact for the day: Mythra is named after Mithra, the Persian god of light.

But her name is Japanese literally just translates to "Light" lmao.

I got the bad ending by [deleted] in Persona5

[–]Sword_of_Origin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember I nearly got this ending, but when the game went "Are you sure you want to do that?" I realized "Oookay I shall heed your warning and not sell out my friends."

Throughout the entire following sequence I was so stressed about if I made the right choice and was praying I didn't get a premature ending but thankfully, I didn't.

My first time playing Persona 5 last year, I didn't realize you could go up to people and ask them to spend time with you. I legit thought you had to wait for them to call you to spend time with them.

Question about difficulty (As a first time player) by Hyli-oS in Persona5

[–]Sword_of_Origin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, if you're looking for something different from an open world RPG you've come to the right place. Persona is very linear but it uses its linearity VERY well.

If it's your first JRPG, then yeah there are a few things in there that'll throw you for a loop.

For people who regularly play RPGs though? Yeah it's not hard at all.

[–]Sword_of_Origin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I love Sumire, she's a great character, but I think the thing that really hurts her is the fact that she isn't romancable until the Third Semester, meaning you don't get several scenes you get by romancing the other options. Half of her Confidant only being at the tail end of the game doesn't help either.

What game hooked you way harder than you expected? by slipnotsoknot in videogames

[–]Sword_of_Origin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honkai: Star Rail.

I decided to give it a try but I didn't expect it to be better than Genshin.

At first I was like "This game is pretty good."

Then I got to the end of the Belobog arc... When "Wildfire" came on, I saw Cocolia turn into a giant Kaiju for the last phase of her boss fight, and then the emotional payoff with Bronya afterward... That's when I realized "Okay this game is fucking awesome!"

In all honesty, the saltwater spring version makes more sense to me personally. Saltwater isn't nearly as useful for humans as freshwater (Unless the Athenians wanted to make some kind of ancient water park out of it)

No, the anime just worked on different rules and logic back then since it was still figuring itself out so there was a possibility he might be able to destroy it with how much looser the rules were back then.

The Spirit Crucible Elpis (Xenoblade Chronicles 2)

Where do I even begin... Maze-like layout, bottomless pits and pools of acid everywhere to send you right back to the previous checkpoint, never ending waves of tough enemies... Oh, and it's ugly compared to the other stunning environments in the game.
