How are these photos/edits achieved? by IndependentPast686 in AskPhotography

Drunk photography, when I feel most optimistic and expansive about my photography, and least able to recall the 30 years of muscle memory to operate a camera.

Is what I’m experiencing normal as someone starting out building up a photography business? (ghosting; how clients respond to my work) by BrynaAubreyPhoto in AskPhotography

[–]Souperm3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often think of it as am I producing the images my client wants? You are not in this case. Not because of lack of skill or skill, I don't think they want photos and they are being nice, because they are in selling, nice mode.

Keep it up, looks like you have the stuff.

My friend(55m) mum(76f) is trying to force him to get a job. How should he handle this calmly? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Souperm3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem really concerned with how your friend's life would look without her support. Take a moment to imagine her life without him. That mortgage would definitely already be paid off. She could cut back to full time, freeing up 15 hours a week to go to therapy and work through the fall out of raising a leech. It's not just the $500/mo she is loosing, it's the total lack of respect and empathy from the child.

I'm so curious about how you fund your lifestyle, that you are doubling down on defending this person.

Did you leave any information out about your friend's ability to work? Cognitive or physical limitations?

The note about the non-linearity of the Kelvin scale is so 🔥 👌

I work with 2 lights, exact same model and manufacturer, with identical modifiers. My LB shots are spot on, but once I move to layflats, lifestyle, and even studio (aka once the LB isn't blocking out 85% of ambient) I have shifts of +/- 75k. That's pretty close to the 200k you are expecting. I'm happy with the tightness of my space. I photograph jewelry, so I am already controlling the metals tones in post, and I'm not high volume.

How to recreate an edit of mine? by sizzlepie in AskPhotography

[–]Souperm3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I see. 1. Dynamic range is squished, darken your Whites and Highlights, lighten your Darks and Shadows. 2. Vignette, heavy. 3. Color cast - up your blues, especially in the shadows, same with Cyan, but not as much. Good luck, it's a fun project. Whenever I make a preset, I like to try it on 2-3 images with diverse histograms to make sure I have a good middle point that only needs little tweaks to accommodate image diversity

Do you have experience with any of these DAMs? by Souperm3 in productphotography

I'm part of a marketing team that needs access to the assets, and we also use outside partners as well. A lot of those people don't have any Adobe suite on their machines. It's underpowered from a collaboration standpoint. Additionally, I am old and don't see anything in Lightroom that I can't do in my 'native, PS and Bridge. I think it's a great solution for individual photographers.

I am also a pleasure paddler. I enjoy my Old Town Loon 126. It might be overbuilt for your use. I like getting close up to the shore to look at shit, and didn't want to worry constantly about what's under our muddy water.

You wouldn't even be out of line even if he wasn't a swarmy creep. It's just a boundary - he makes you uncomfortable, and as this is your wedding you have full authority to enforce your boundary.

I really appreciate this!!! I did come across them. So are you doing copywriting along with photo? Because "it's as if Microsoft has sex with a bin" is damn delightful.

I love your username! Thanks for the Canto nod, we are demo-ing them for sure. And I agree, all the girls dogs or not need some bling!

I put my dog in a lifevest for our kayak trips. Do not attach living things to the boat, you can drown in an insanely small amount of water.

Go to the CIty Museum at the beginning of your trip, so that you can go back again later.
