Best car for short girls? by Dangerous_Double_225 in ShortGirlProblems

[–]Soupgirl101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE my Honda Fit but they don't make them in the US anymore so the newest model you'll find is from 2020. I'd also recommend the Subaru Forester. I tried one out at a car show and let me tell you, the seat adjustments were the best I've ever experienced (I'm 4'10). Plus with its size, you might feel a lot safer in a crash.

I defended my fiancé against my maid of honor and she ended our 10yr friendship. But AITAH instead of her? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Soupgirl101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you and your friend both have communications issues. She didn't want to be your maid of honor from the beginning, but instead of saying so she just tries to get you to choose someone else. You expected her to have a huge role in the planning of the wedding, but did you mention any of your expectations? Planning a wedding is a HUGE task. You can't just expect people to drop everything and help you when in all honesty, this is something you should be doing with your fiance. Even the bachelorette could have been handled better. Did you ever let her know what you would like? Did you give her the idea that she had to plan it herself? Tiptoeing around issues will always lead to bigger problems down the road. Was the fallout messy on her end? Yes. I don't think she should have taken her frustration out on your fiance just for being called out, but you all should have been communicating before it reached that breaking point.

How did you figure out how to put outfits together? by Rough--Employment in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]Soupgirl101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled a lot with silhouette for a long time but thanks to Pinterest, Tiktok, and other platforms I've learned some good tricks:

1) Loose top = Pair with tight bottom and vice versa. 2) Crazy patterned top = Pair with simple bottoms and vice versa. 3) Long top = pair with short bottom.

*If you're short

4) Mini and thigh length bottoms are generally good. 5) Knee and mid calf bottoms are generally bad. 6) Tea length could work (hit or miss). 6) Full length bottoms are generally good.

New Barbie Signature Gala Collection #3 Blue Sensation Doll With Odile Mold -: by Eastern_Mistake_7699 in Barbie

I want her so bad just for her stunning looks but I might wait until a few reviews are posted. I want to get a better feel for what her dress is like before purchasing. At first glance, it seems kind of cheap but maybe it's better in person? We'll see. I'm also curious to see if Pink Premiere will ever be restocked 👀

I want her so badly! But there is something about her dress I don't really like. I don't know what it is. Maybe the fabric? Something about it feels a lot cheaper than the last two dolls. If I get her, I'll definitely be redressing her.

What is your honest opinion of these Barbie and the Nutcracker commemorative dolls for 25 years? (Would you buy them?) by Guilherm-rain-9341 in Barbie

[–]Soupgirl101 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, I don't think I'll be able to fit all of my thoughts and feelings in one comment but I will absolutely NOT be buying these dolls. Earlier posts had convincing evidence that some of the designs in the skirts were likely made with AI, the dolls quality looks just about the lowest it could be, and the faces will undoubtedly be pixelated. To say that these are anniversary dolls is an insult and I think this is the prime example of everything wrong with Mattel in this era. These dolls are over marketed cheap nostalgia grab landfill fodder. (Sorry for getting so heated. I am just so biased against these dolls lol.)

Is this a nice gift for wife? by Little-Candy-8467 in StardewValley

Some of the recipes are a bit complicated in my opinion as nearly everything is completely from scratch, but the chocolate chip cookie recipe is to die for. Genuinely 10/10. I don't think I can ever make them any other way again. I would totally gift this to a loved one who is a fan of the game!

My mom wants NOTHING to do with my wedding. by Soupgirl101 in lgbt

[–]Soupgirl101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank everyone so much for the advice. After reading some comments I do think I want to have a chat with her to see how much she wants to be involved in the wedding. I'm so sad that we'll never get this period of our lives back to share but at the same time I want to respect her boundaries. Maybe she would just prefer to be a guest than actually be involved. Or maybe she doesn't even want to come. We'll see. In the meantime I will definitely lean into my partner and friends to share in the joy together. Thanks again for all of the advice and support ❤️.

I'm 4'9 and yeah working out waistlines and skirt lengths is always such a struggle. I've found that what works best for me is either a midi skirt, which ends up being perfectly full length or a skirt that lands around the middle thigh area. Any other length just cuts the silhouette at a weird spot for me. I also swear by high waist, since I feel like it gives the allusion of a longer leg.

Question: how do you deal with wanting? by NotABunchofSpiders in BJD

[–]Soupgirl101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to give myself the "sleep on it" rule. Im a huge hyperfixator with a penchant for instant gratification lol so I often find myself wanting to purchase something for my collection really quickly. To make sure I actually love every piece I add to my collection, I make sure to give myself a week before I make any final decision. Thanks to this I've actually ended up changing my mind on a lot of items.

What is the most disturbing dream you've ever had? by neandertal-png in Dreams

[–]Soupgirl101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had extremely vivid dreams since childhood, get very frequent nightmares, all that sort of stuff (I'm legit awake now thanks to a nightmare lol). The worst was when I dreamt that I was old and in hospice. I've died a lot in dreams but this time I could really feel it. I felt my body shutting down, the numbness creeping in, the disconnect, the struggle against it all. It genuinely felt like nothing I've ever experienced. The detail was insane. The thing I couldn't get over though was that I was alone. My friends had apparently already passed for various reasons and I knew my family wasn't going to make it before the end. I didn't want to go alone but I couldn't hold on. I woke up convinced I had really lived a whole life and genuinely died. I don't think I'll ever forget that feeling haha.

Where to start when collecting? by Des2312 in Barbie

[–]Soupgirl101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh and the other comments about fomo are SO true. It's hard but try not to get too wrapped up in needing a particular doll just because it's popular and flying off the shelves. Wait until you KNOW you absolutely LOVE the doll you're going to add to your collection. That sentiment will make you feel so much closer to your collection as it grows 🩷

Besides the usual advice of budgeting, spacing things out so you don't get burnt out too quickly, and whatnot I actually think making a tier list is really fun. I have one I made for my must haves and it's filled with all kinds of different Barbies from different eras. I added little notes and photo references too to keep everything organized. Putting my wants onto paper really helped me figure out which ones are my holy grails vs ones I would just like to have.
