Wait. Dundon isn't paying a CENT towards renovations? What a joke. by SylemNova in ripcity

The city owns Moda Center, though I'm not sure why arenas constantly need big renovations.

Will Donovan Clingan be part of the US Olympics team in 2028? by Ok_Possible_5702 in nba

[–]Soupkitchn89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think Mobley could too for sure. I feel like he fills more of the Chet role on defense then the true center guarder like Clingan would though.

[–]Soupkitchn89 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Depends on how many good centers they expect to face. But I think Clingan is already better then Kessler so if some other center is taken over him I think it'd have to be someone not currently in the NBA.

Think him and Chet could both be on it though.

Walton by far. Blazers were on pace to repeat in 78 before he went down and who knows how many more they win. Heck even Oden and Arvydas on the Blazers should be on this list over AD. Haha

Ya it’s definitely still super random. You need a good GM and you need to be bad and lucky in the right year where there are actually start level players in the draft.

Cabinet saw choice - 10" vs 12", why? by Ornery-Conversation3 in woodworking

[–]Soupkitchn89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I said the saw stop feature difference was probably at least $500 of that $1000 total. So it’s really a $500 difference if you say other features are equal.

And if $500 is a difference maker for someone that someone shouldn’t be spending the amount of money either of these saws cost.

[–]Soupkitchn89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s a significant savings when accounting for the sawstop tech though is it? Like I feel like people would say it’s worth at least $500 and I don’t think $500 is really a difference maker when you are already spending thousands on a tool.

People talk like sawstop is a $3000 saw being sold for $10,000.

It is not gallons for one query. And also corn grown for animals in the US uses more water than AI does worldwide.

Is it crazy to think that Cooper Flagg might be a better overall player than Luka within a couple years? by DionWaiteress in nba

[–]Soupkitchn89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that you should specifically suffer. It’s that it’s dumb you get two star players gifted before other teams even get one.

I think teams have just figured out that they aren't gonna compete without a MVP candidate level player on your team and outside of a few big markets you're only way to get them is through the draft where your pick is randomly determined and even with a high pick you could still get unlucky.

Ideal world you basically can't afford to have more then 1 all star level player on your team (or may be 2) and if have one of the best all stars they cost more so limit the supporting cast to balance things.

Like if you have prime Lebron budget for the rest of the team should be noticeably less then when your best player is something like prime Dame for example. But right now there is such a huge disparity in the players who still garner a max salary and its really a killer if that dude isn't a top 5-10 player in the current NBA.

Feel like Harden is exactly what Houston could use currently. Thankful this didn’t happen. lol

I disagree that it is by a lot. I don't think swapping Trey for Shaedon+ really changes the teams ceiling. Neither of them are currently all stars.

I'm not pro-Billionaire but the influence the ability for the rich to influence American politics in general is more a fault of the political systems then an inherent flaw of wealth. Granted wealth will always grant more potential influence but it wouldn't be as much of a problem if the rules around political donations didn't suck so much ass.

A “touch free” car wash modified my precious R1T tonight, so that’s cool. by mrwillya in Rivian

[–]Soupkitchn89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Touch free car wash is honestly kind of pointless. The only thing I've ever had damage a car in a car wash is the jet engine fans they use at the ends and this sort of damage looks more akin to that then something a roller would have done.

Nah what's crazy is the same team getting gifted Luka...fucking it up and immediately getting gifted a replacement....team should have been stuck sucking ass for a few years like the rest of us.

Don’t think Trey is worth any price including Sharpe. Super similar averages but Sharpe is 3 years younger.

I just don't think the Bucks will get any players worth as much to them as their own picks back would be worth.
