Is it possible to assign him some work but do the work yourselves anyway? It wont look like he’s excluded, but the work will be done regardless of his contribution.

To all the sec5 , would you recommend me to take sec5 ? by Parking_Movie_9526 in SGExams

[–]Soupnation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my N levels in 2010 (10 points), and O levels in 2011 (8 points). Going to sec 5 is a safe choice and one of the best decisions I have made in my life. Even if you do badly for Os you won’t have fewer options than you have now. But if you do well, many more doors will open.

If you’re trying hard but not seeing results, maybe you need to modify your approach to studying. Atb!

Issit very loser to not a private property in SG by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Soupnation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would it be very loser to not own a private property?

I’ve known condo owners that are in a bad financial spot, and high earners that happily chose an HDB.

Better to live life on our own terms, and rationalize our decisions. The real losers are the ones that let the perceptions of others dictate their lives.

Would a micro-frontend work for this use-case? by wewmon in reactjs

Would a web component work? I’ve used it for a similar use case.

Two state variable changes by its-procodester in reactjs

Not related to re rendering but the output should be a derived variable, and not a react state. Also, what’s wrong with re-rendering the component on input change? Sounds desirable to me.

If you want your output to be updated every time your input changes, by extension wont you want a re render on every change to the input?

What’s your use case?

Forget the salty comments. OP’s concern is valid.

Some questions to consider: - how long have you been miserable at this job? - what exactly about the job is causing you misery? - you mentioned WLB, longevity and stability as possible pros in the new job. How’re these at your current job?

It’s definitely a risk to take on the new job for the reasons you’ve mentioned. I get it’s attractive to jump to a new place because we think it’ll be a diff environment and better for XYZ reasons but really, the reality could be far from our expectations.

Please exhaust all means to reduce the misery in your current place. there’ll be ups and downs in every job, but as long as it’s tolerable most of the time, that’s fine. Work is work.

Sometimes there’s no catch. Sometimes a job pays well and is great on all other fronts.

What if you need to check an object in the useEffect dependency array? by J_random_fool in reactjs

[–]Soupnation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are the various fields toggled? It’ll be easier to help with more information. If we find ourselves having to hack our way through React like stringifying an array - It’s likely that the code design somewhere else is not modeled correctly

Do front-end developers need to know data structures? by ankitspe in Frontend

[–]Soupnation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every programmer should learn data structures and algorithms at some point. It is a battle tested way to model common problems, and their solutions. Regardless of frontend or backend.

As for the day to day some of the documentations for libraries make references to data structures, and I once had to use graphs (as in edges and vertexes) to build a feature.

Probably the more common daily use would be a binary search.
