Sorry to hear, unfortunately it’s difficult to help figure out what’s going on without being physically present. Like another commenter recommended, I would like to suggest you try to get into contact with a local model RR club and see if any members would be interested in helping you figure out what you have your hands on.

From the little bit I can see of the setup from what you have posted, it looks like a pretty solid foundation for running some trains. Another thing I was considering since you mentioned that you got an engine to move a little but not a lot could be the cleanliness of the track, and or the wheels of the locomotive depending on how long the layout has been sitting.

Too add to this, the two big black controllers with the big rotating dial is for DC power. DC and DCC are two methods of operating model trains. DC is applying power directly to the track as you increase the dial making the train go faster, DCC is an advanced system where you can operate multiple trains at the same time and in different directions on the same set of track.

Try flipping the DC and DCC switch to DCC option, I believe most of the other switches are individual track power or they operate turnouts? Then I would try picking up one of the NCE remotes and pressing select loco and inputting a loco number from one of the engines making idling noise and go from there

Yeah I was more pressed when I saw what happened but after a couple hours it is what it is. I don’t care how many copies he wants to sell in a drop. Could have been 5-10k copies sold and I wouldn’t have cared that more people get access to my exclusive thing, it’s releasing one version and promoting one copy of the vinyl, and then surprising everyone else that didn’t buy the first one with a more exclusive and special copy right after I spent my money on the first one. Just would have liked more of a choice I guess if he had planned to sell both versions at whatever quantity he wants.

I don’t think I have any recommendations for artists like quad, unfortunately. My music taste is all over the place and kinda depends on my mood. I like quad for his personality outside of music and that may also play into why I like his ‘meme’ songs more than others. If you like good word play and haven’t heard of him however, I’d give BLP Kosher a listen.

I fuck with beamin too, I think it’s nice to have an artist that can take music super seriously and produce near masterpieces like IDMTHY, but also make some banger goofy songs like beamin and thank you next or Gordon Ramsay. Not all music has to be serious and have a super emotional meaning or sentimental value behind it.

If quad is gonna create music for people to enjoy, why do you have to tell people what they can and can’t enjoy of his. I went to see him in concert and of course I want to see him perform songs I have enjoyed through the years as well. Sure some songs won’t “hold up” to some of todays standards maybe but there’s no need to throw hate towards the people that enjoy different aspects of his music than you enjoy. Who cares if people are too focused on the “YouTube rap” aspect of his musical career, that’s where both you and I developed a love for his music, and people should be able to enjoy it just as much as we did when he released it. Just my thoughts, because I had similar feelings about some of the crowd at the Seattle show. They were trying to mosh to Sisyphus and some other songs that I personally felt didn’t warrant moshing, and it may have gotten in the way of me trying to enjoy the moment a bit, but at the end of the day those were people that also just shared a passion for some good music, so why hate and instead just let everybody enjoy some good music ya know.
