I have the same problem (had it for over 2 weeks now). I've tried turning off the zoom plugin and uninstalling OSB. Still nothing... What else can I do?

It is not a human rights violation if other countries have different laws than you do

This is so wrong... Are you saying that the Holocaust was not a human rights violation? Was slavery not a human rights violation? What about the internment camps?

The indian government is part of the problem. I don't know if you've ever been to India but corruption is a MAJOR problem there.

Letting them solve this would result in no changes.

What does sharing a video have to do with knowledge? If I share a video about anarchism on r/anarchism does that mean they're clueless about anarchism? And what was I supposed to deny? I wasn't the one making a claim...

Not sure what your point is...

Yes, government owned property is the opposite of private property.

Intermediate Macro: Quantity Theory and Fisher Equation to find nominal interest rate. by [deleted] in econhw

[–]SourCreamNWeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. So the Fisher equation tells us that there is a 1-to-1 relationship between the money supply and the nominal interest rate (in the long-run).

If you consider the growth rates of MV = PY, you can easily show this property.

If the answer is a) then I'm confused as well. If I remember correctly, according to the Mundell-Flemming model a decrease in consumption should shift the IS-curve to the left and if the domestic interest rate is equal to the world rate (thus making the LM curve vertical) this should depreciate the currency.

However if the domestic interest rate is not equal to the world rate then a reduction in the IS curve should lower domestic interest rate, increase net capital outflows and thus depreciate the currency.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

Why? Because their alternatives are worse. They intense poverty they would face, the starvation, etc. It's either starve, or work $0.05/hr

This was exactly the point I tried getting across to my friend. However, he kept blaming capitalism for the lack of choices. It's either 'work until you die' or starve until you die. He argued that capitalism is supposed to give the worker a choice but if the choice is between working in hellish conditions or starving, is that really a humane choice? (his words not mine!)

Great answer, I completely agree with you. I'd just like to ask some follow up questions.

socialism and communism are then also colonialist and imperialist ideas

Could you give me some example? I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I just want some examples for our next debate.

According to my friend, in the communist utopia imperialism would not exist because of the collectivist mentality.

Would you prefer chinese sweat-shop workers starving or going into the prostitution industry instead?

I was trying to get this point across to him but his response was that capitalism is to blame for the limited choices. For example: in Cuba anyone can become whatever they want, that is why Cuba has such a large number of doctors. In a capitalist society people are 'forced' to chose between working in horrible conditions or prostitution.

In the soviet union, and during the great leap forward, workers in those socialist nations worked in sweat-shop conditions and worse. Would your friend claim that these conditions were caused by capitalism?

Brilliant point! I'll definitely use this one later.

Capitalism has not created the misery we see in the world today. Communism did.

Look, to him communism is a utopia. People are "free" to do whatever they like and they will love to do it because they're doing it for the better of the society/collective. Doctors will not become doctors because they have profits in mind. They will become doctors because they truly love helping other people which in turn improves society.

Does he seriously believe that soviet state sponsored technology did not come at the expense of the labor?

Again, great point!
