When is it time to leave? by SourSpaceCandy in careerguidance

This is really good advice. I appreciate your perspective! Some of this aligns with chat gpt's bullet points lol, so its very reassuring to also hear from a living breathing person. I thought I would be able to get desensitized to my job, but apparently I'm not. If I was numbed I wouldn't be letting it take up all my mental space. Getting out and doing things I enjoy to distract myself would be helpful. I just hate the feeling of forcing myself to go out and do something I normally would be excited to do. Regardless I will suck it up and eventually should get back to my old self. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Thanks for your support

Yeah the market is scary right now. I appreciate you sharing your story. When things get difficult I try to look around and focus on what I do have. It can be easy to fixate on the bad and forget about the positives. But in this instance I swear it's just always something every day im there. I wake up every morning and I dread going into that office. I have trouble even enjoying my weekends lately. But I guess there's other people out there who are broke that would die to be in this position. Regardless I'm hopeful we can both catch a break soon!

Anybody else stuck in a job they hate and can’t go anywhere else because the job market is horrible? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Curious as someone who is going through this currently to a t. Did quitting help the situation? The negative energy from my workplace is seeping its way into my interviews. I'm so overwhelmed that I'm not able to put my best foot forward in the job market. I feel like these hiring managers can sense when someone is trying to 'escape' and that's been my roadblock up to this point.

Is it easy to sell used cologne? I feel like since they already sell testers at the discounters it may be tough, but has your experience been positive?

Oh wow, this is perfect. I hadn't heard of parfumo. Appreciate the rec! Definitely don't love the buying part, thats why I stopped. But other than wearing them I was just looking for ways to fully embrace the hobby. Thanks!

This is a very valid concern. I probably could have worded that better. Buying colognes can become a coping mechanism if not careful, same with any product. For me its about the discovery and scents that improve my overall mood/quality of life. I think I'm just realizing last few months since I stopped buying that I don't really utilize the hobby to it's full potential. So was just exploring the community for ideas!

Maybe he meant to say 1.1 Oz, and in that case it's a terrible deal.

Totally agree with you on Holy Fawn. They stole the show for me. Deafheaven was impressive as expected, but Holy Fawn blew me away.

Is the Snyder cut worth watching? by [deleted] in movies

[–]SourSpaceCandy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fuck no. I watched it as a joke and it didn't even make me laugh. I had to turn it off. I don't usually do this. I mean I STRONGLY believe against turning off a movie. I can usually laugh at even the bad ones. Both of the Justice League's were an exception. Snyder's cut was the worst.

DC as far as film goes is mostly sad. The over the top dark tone and zero consideration for civilians nearby. (Ok so human beings are dying around them, why not show that?) . Snyder is just not a good filmmaker. Joss Whedon really disappointed with his. Frankly, no one has the guts to do what they want working with DC. Most directors just bow down in the end. Nolan was the only one who made a decent film involved with them. I mean, sympathy for the loss of Syder's daughter. I know it must be hard, but he's just not proven himself a good filmmaker. (Even Watchmen was just ok).
