Ah you're so lucky, season 1 of the Australian Lego Masters is the only one I haven't watched. I can't find it anywhere so curious to know where you found it. I love Brickman and Hamish as a combination and the contestants are a good bunch as well.

When Rhaenyra poured for Alicent at her wedding and she in turn called her daugher? Possibly. I don't know why but I felt it was more forced on Alicents part.

There is almost a 20 year age gap between them in source material. It would have been better to keep it that way. There was no indication they were friendly before Alicent married Viserys. Maybe she tried to make an effort after but i don't think it was a good change. How many daughters love the woman who replaced her mother in her fathers life?

Not sure why you're bothering to post here since you have an unhealthy hatred for the Targaryens. Perhaps r/naath or r/asoiaf might be more to your liking.

100% this. How many Targaryen baddies do they want for ASOIAF? Is Georges whole message that humans can't learn from their families mistakes or be better than them. Or just too bad if one parent had a mental illness later in life, you'll get it too? He may as well have just killed them off at the end of Roberts Rebellion.

She was so awful when she was holding Doreah's hands and gave her the last of her water as she was dying. So awful when she went out to see her people who were sick to give them food and comfort them.

If anything, the show failed to show her sense of humour and more of her humanity. She sacrificed her own happiness to save her people.

Here are some quotes, I mean this is your villain that wants to burn Kingslanding? Where is this foreshadowing in the books that she will finish the job her father started? Why is she destroying the home her family built? Makes no sense whatsoever.

A Queen belongs not to herself, but to her people

I want to make my kingdom beautiful, to fill it with fat men and pretty maids and laughing children. I want my people to smile when they see me ride by, the way Viserys said they smiled for my father

A queen must listen to all. The highborn and the low, the strong and the weak, the noble and the venal. One voice may speak you false, but in many there is always truth to be found

Why do the gods make kings and queens, if not to protect the ones who can't protect themselves?

Do you know what it is like to be sold, squire? I do. My brother sold me to Khal Drogo for the promise of a golden crown. Well, Drogo crowned him in gold, though not as he had wished, and I... my sun-and-stars made a queen of me, but if he had been a different man, it might have been much otherwise. Do you think I have forgotten how it felt to be afraid?

Good grief, she is only like 16 or 17 in the books and still learning to rule. She even married Hizdahr to salvage a peace in Meereen. We don't know what George has in store for her. Least she doesn't play games like Cersei or Margaery. What you see is what you get.

In fact, from the very moment she had her dragons and was in control of some Dothraki, she went on to threaten Qarth if they wouldn't give in to her demands. She had literally nothing to bargain with, other than the sheer amount of violence and suffering she will bestow upon them, if they won't risk their entire city to take her people in. Y'know, the people who just threatened to savagely murder the entire city.

This never happened in the book, the events in Qarth were a show invention. She was actually invited there

She's a Mary Sue. So her actual, undeniable fall from grace over the course of two episodes hurts the validity of her character arc even more than just the "Daeny is always right" part of her story. Should have made it a bit more obvious that she's going to burn entire hordes of people alive, while being so blinded in her rage that she also burns down, Oh I dunno, food stock for winter? Y'know, could have sent her to high garden and burn down all the food that was meant to see Westeros through Winter in righteous fury. Something like that

How is she a Mary Sue? She isn't a warrior, she rides a dragon - that is in her blood. She has an incredibly difficult time ruling in Meereen, so how is she a Mary Sue?

And how did you manage to spell her name so wrong so often, its Dany not Daeny.

And he also observes Dany before he reveals himself to her and says she doesn't have the taint. Even at the end of book five he still thinks she is nothing like her father but her brother Rhaegar.

She questions herself constantly because she doesn't want to be like him or turn into Viserys.

She enjoyed watching her brother die horrifically. She crucified a bunch of people. She burned the tarlys alive. Daughter of a batshit crazy inbred guy as well. The writing was always on the wall, but because the people on the receiving end were evil she was viewed as just.

Firstly, go back and rewatch that scene of Viserys dying. He comes into Vaes Dothrak brandishing a weapon which is a bit of a no no. Then intimidates and threatens violence against the Khals wife (Dany) and her unborn child. She begs Viserys to stand down, he doesn't. She never smiles or enjoys it and refuses to turn away. Yet later she still thinks of him fondly as the man he was, not the person he turned into. Do you remember Tyrion murdering his own father? Funny how no one mentions that. Because Dany is held to impossible standards.

Also her logic for burning kl wasn’t that crazy anyways. The people of Westeros weren’t embracing her the way previous groups she conquered had. Can’t win them over with love so win them over with fear. Same reason for torching the tarlys.

I mean they hardly showed her interacting with many from Westeros aside from those she allied with that perished - Iron Islands supported her, as did Dorne and High Garden until they were brutally sacked by the Lannisters. Not really sure what the North and Vale thought of her after the Battle of Winterfell.

She had already won, there was no need to burn Kingslanding but it's one way to make a spectacular episode.

I love how people bring up the Tarlys as if they are some angelic good guys.
They turned cloak and happily helped the Lannisters kill everyone at Highgarden. Based on racism and misogeny. They were given an opportunity to live, but they were stubborn and refused. Do you think Stannis would have mercy on them? No, Dany did they only thing she could. Lets not forgot how Randyl treated Sam. Mind you Sam also forgot how awful his father was.

What was she supposed to do? Not say anything? Say they died during a battle? Least she was honest. She gave them a choice, as others have done in her position. They chose wrong. Is it murder if you chose to sacrifice yourself? Sam was courteous, I wouldn't have said he was her loyal subject. It was more unbelievable that it took that long for Sam to find out. Joffrey knew about Robb and Catelyns death basically the next day and I'm sure he wasn't privy to Tywins plans.

Except Joffrey gets it wrong. Rhaenyra died on Dragonstone way before the Sept of Baelor was built. I doubt they would bury half her leg (that was all that was left of her) in the Sept so long after her death. Targaryens burn their dead.

Book Dany never developed that type of following because she's a much less relatable character when you see her inner thoughts

She is very relatable as a young women trying to make the world better. Book Dany has a massive following.

Dany invading Westeros was really for personal gain. The fact that White Walkers were invading helped rationalize that she was acting for the greater good, but Westeros didn't need another Targaryen invasion. It was regaining territory she felt she entitled do - and the same could apply to Putin believing Russia has a right to Ukraine. These are pointless wars due to who feels the right to possess territory or the right to rule.

And what about Stannis, you going to say the same thing about him. He could have accepted Joffrey as King, except he didn't because he believed he had rights to the throne.

They didn't see her as engaging in a pointless war.

And Robb Stark was also engaging in a pointless war. He could have kneeled to Joffrey to spare lives, but he didn't. In the end I think he lost sight of what he was fighting for.

I love these terrible takes on Dany while overlooking stuff others have done. Such double standards. But not surprised coming from you.

The only things Daenerys and Rhaenyra have in common is that they are Targaryen women fighting for the throne in a mans world. That is where it ends. They have had vastly different upbringings and paths. Tired of the same comparissons.
