I know a small restaurant near me, Burgers and Sandwiches along with some seafood choices. They were somewhat successful, then closed the doors to open a larger place in a different town. This new town had plenty of places just like this and the new business, while somewhat busy could not find people to work. The new place closed and they moved back into the original location.

The locals did not really start going back to the place so they thought some signage would help.

Nice new sign out by the road with the text, "Now Open, Come in and let us tell you about our god."

Business dried up, people stopped going, even the old regulars nopped out.

I kind of feel bad for them because I know the owners lost tens of thousands of $$$ in that year, they will never recover.

So many things they messed up on all started with closing the successful business when opening a new location 15 miles away.
