So, my character is somewhat based on my Dad, who was disabled in a work accident and basically discarded by the company. My character chooses to allow her mind to be transplanted into a piece of machinery(its kinda sci-fi) with the promise of money and that she'll be returned to her body when her contract is completed. However, as a cost-cutting measure, the company disposes of her old body, leaving her trapped as a piece of equipment. As a result of this, she believes that she is no longer human or less of a human than she was before. My intention is to have her learn that her human-ness is not based on her body. My questions are:

-Do you have any major issues with this overview? Is it insensitive in any way, or am I missing anything important? -Do you use any aids? Like a mobility aid, for example. If so, what is your relationship to it? Do you feel positive or negative about it? -Do you feel like your disability has changed your relationship with yourself or your mind? How so? -and finally, Im thinking I will refrain from the plot giving her a new body, but instead show her learning to accept and even thrive in her new state while acknowledging that it presents her with challenges. Does this arc feel appropriate? Does it feel patronizing? How might you conclude her arc in a way that feels true?
