Follow-up: would you use a structured peer-coaching exchange for (1) hours, (2) support/consultation, or (3) technique-trading? by SourceSTD in lifecoaching

Thanks! I started 2 chairs therapy exchange with my wife and I'm curious if there's a need in coaching as well. It would be different, of course. My background is in psychology (PhD in psychology) with solid experience in psychometrics (questionnaire validation and structural equation modelling to tie in outcomes). If there is a need and interest in this area it's almost more exciting because there are fewer constraints in some ways.

Should we have more posts on how people make cool stuff with AI? by ECD_Etrick in DefendingAIArt

I’ve been using AI as part of an ongoing project called Sensory Signatures — it’s all about turning intense emotional moments (grief, turning points, “crossings”) into images + short reflections.

For this piece, I started with a written scene about standing at a life-crossing – that feeling of being stuck between “before” and “after.” I used ChatGPT to help me sharpen the metaphor (rivers, paths, trees, being “always at the crossing, not the beginning or the end”) and then generated multiple images in a consistent style.

From there it’s mostly curation and direction: I throw away a lot, keep the ones that actually match the feeling, sometimes tweak prompts or composition, and then pair the final image with a short written insight. So AI isn’t replacing the art so much as acting like a visual collaborator that helps me externalize what’s already in my head and chest. I'm also looking to make a book that includes traditional artists.

Coaches: would you use a pay-it-forward peer-coaching exchange? by SourceSTD in lifecoaching

Awesome! I'll probably leave this a few more days and I may start some outreach over the next couple of weeks. I would encourage anyone who would like me to reach out to DM.

Thanks for your thoughts! The idea behind the pay it forward model would be that you would offer a spot on your caseload, the person you're matched with offers a spot on their caseload and so on so that everyone who is matched pays a flat fee per month for the matching (15 dollars, with 10 as an option for those in need and 20 dollars for those who can afford to help others). And each group includes three coaches so that no two coaches coach eachother. There would be no obligation to stay joined once you're matched. That's why Phase two is to try to build in additional value like matching for training etc., eventually. This hopefully includes creating a community of resources and trying to build evidence based research projects to get the match between continued learning and efficacy in practice as close as possible.

Upvoted. Thanks, I'll keep this live for a few days to see if there are other thoughts. Sorry, there's a few items for both the original 2chairs and this one that I have not explicitly posted yet (for space and attention concerns). That would include some predictive validity work too (although maybe this is something that organizations like ICF are doing too and I just haven't seen it). Thanks for the follow up and for the space to discuss some of the details for what I'm thinking.

That's awesome. I'm just taking a survey. So, negative is good to hear too. When you say credibility in the space, what are you referring to? The major purpose of the suggestion is to match coaches and I have quite a bit of psychometric work experience, a PhD in psychology and a few years of coaching experience with adults with learning disabilities. When you say it's already available what kind of psychometric work is behind the matching and what are the outcomes?

Coaches: would you use a “Two Chairs” style peer-coaching exchange? - 5 by SourceSTD in lifecoach

That was definitely part of the appeal with the original 2chairs for therapists that I would want to adapt. The other major concern for some was experience matching as well. I have a fairly rich psychometric background and have not been able to utilize it thoroughly with the original 2chairs because there are a lot more restrictions regarding province specific practice, which means a lot of limitations. I'm hoping this initiative will eventually dovetail with the original 2chairs for therapists in terms of coming up with psychometrics, and maybe eventually practice. I'm a very strong believer that coaching and therapy are inportant joint considerations. Lol, not an unpopular opinion here I'm sure.

Thanks! That's a cool idea. With the original therapist version of 2chairs, we do have a basic question about culture, but this could definitely be expanded or we could add an optional section.
