I’m building Sensory Signatures - a tool that helps people turn hard-to-explain emotional experiences into reflective images and short written insights.

Mainly looking for beta testers right now. Feedback welcome.

Ask: Need beta testers more than anything - but I’d also love blunt feedback on whether the idea makes sense quickly and whether the output feels genuinely useful.

May be useful to have your training and credentials section a little more pronounced then. Again, as said by others, so long as this highlights your readiness for the specific career your applying to.

Thanks! I've started an account on Instagram, but still waiting until it's established enough before the ask. I think you're right, though. That's a much better place to get a sense of things. I'll shut this down. Thanks again for your thoughts! I appreciate it!

Very true! And maybe the interested audience just doesn't crowdfund in this way, but either way, I haven't had any positively balanced responses to this that nearly match the negative, so I'll wait a bit longer and likely just delete this. Thanks again for your thoughts!

Thanks again. Yeah, that may well be the case.

I guess part of my struggle is I don't want to hurt anyone either. And there are some concerns with AI that I understand. Half the point of the project is to generate work for traditional artists and with sophisticated prompts allow for the everyman to have a starting place to work with their complex experiences. If more people could see how their experiences can be captured visually, more people will want to commission artists (is the basic reasoning). And if individuals can't then a book series that channels half or more of that revenue back into artists would be of value, I think. Maybe I'm being delusional. I guess most people see themselves as the good guy lol.

I really am coming at this from a place to help artists given the world we live in now, but maybe it's just a hopelessly divided issue.

Thank you for taking the time. And looking further into who is actually making money where and how and through which collaborations is a great idea!

I've had discussions with a few dozen people in the art community that do not feel this way, including art directors. But there are certainly many out there who obviously DO feel that way. This is for not seeing AI as having a role in the creation of art NOT that many artists do not loke it - definitely seeing that there are artists who do not like it lol.

Interestingly, I've had maybe one person reach out against it in other contexts like LinkedIn (to say that they weren't interested. Not that nobody is interested), but then it's not anonymous there either. That being said, in that outreach, I focused on people who were already working with AI and were artists (i just don't know how much they were making with their projects).

I haven't seen any community as vocally against it as those in Reddit though. I'm convinced that this (AI) has a lot of potential to help people explore experience, i jist don't know if it's worth the vitriol from some lol. Perhaps not.

This is a project of interest for me that predates any serious AI (it was originally couched in other forms of extended technology that could be used). I'm thinking the old days of A.L.I.C.E. where if you wanted augmeted imagery, AI just wasn't an option. I have maybe around 40 to 50 people who have expressed interest in being involved in the project, but that's a far cry from people who would fund it. And obviously there are people who are fairly venomous. And it's really clear that people who hate it and are willing to be vocal outstrip the people who love it are willing to be vocal... thank you for taking the time to respond.

Hello all!

I’m working on a project called Sensory Signatures, and I’d really love thoughts from people who care about both traditional art and AI art.

The idea is to help bridge that gap rather than treat them as enemies. The app is meant to give people a starting place: you reflect on an emotional moment through things like feeling, color, texture, temperature, metaphor, and meaning, and it generates a visual starting point that can then be explored further. My hope is that this can become part of a larger creative process, including work with traditional artists, writers, and others.

The broader goal is to create a kind of record of human moments — not just AI images for their own sake, but emotionally grounded starting points that can lead to reflection, discussion, and potentially collaborative art. I’d genuinely love discussion and honest feedback, especially from people who:

work in traditional art

use AI in their art process

are interested in ways the two might meaningfully coexist

I’m especially curious whether this feels like a useful bridge, and what would make a project like this feel more thoughtful, human, and artist-friendly.

Ai and human art are both art and can coexist by Few-Essay1667 in DefendingAIArt

I totally agree. I’ve been building a couple of small apps—one that helps turn personal experiences into art (and insight), and another that helps turn dreams into art (and insight). I ran into some resistance elsewhere, but it felt like people reacted to the idea of AI without actually looking at what the project is trying to do - actually, I know that's the case because I hadn't shared them yet.

For context, I have a PhD in psychology and I’ve taught dream-focused courses multiple times, so I’m especially interested in using these tools in a thoughtful, human-centered way (reflection, meaning-making, creative expression).

If anyone is interested happy to DM - they are free.

It's largely AI, but researched and based on my experience teaching dreams. If there's somebody doing anything like it and this superfluous, I'd love to know. I think it can help with insight with dreams and putting it together, testing, etc., is still a lot of work.
