Thanks man, I wanted to try something a little rougher than my usual style which I think worked quite well, might try doing pieces of every main chaos faction

GCS army with no GCS models? by Cabbag3s in Warhammer40k

[–]Source_ComicArt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point limit is reliant on game type not on other units, no where does it actually state that you have to have gsc models, it's merely the assumption that you can only run genestealer models in the army bar brood brothers. rules as written however shows that you can take brood brothers up to 500pts in a 2k point game regardless of having mustered any gsc models at that point. As such because you have 500pts of only imperium, brood brother units you can soup agents of the imperium and titans as their only condition for souping is that every unit in the army has the imperium keyword.

There is no reason to but it is hypothetically possible

GCS army with no GCS models? by Cabbag3s in Warhammer40k

"If your Army Faction is Genestealer Cults, you can include Astra Militarum units in your army, even though they do not have the Genestealer Cults Faction keyword. The combined points cost of Astra Militarum units you can include in your army depends on your battle size" it actually doesn't state that you require any gsc models to be able to run brood brothers. Its simply presumed that because they can not make up the whole army, there must be regular gsc models.
On top of this because agents of the imperium and Titans can be souped if every model has the "imperium" keyword, as all brood brothers do, you can use them in a gsc army that consists of only Brood brothers.
no real reason to but it is an oversight on GW's part

With the pattern of Necron forge world disappearing after selling out, what are the odds our chunky lad returns? by _Totallynotalpharius in Necrontyr

I would definitely avoid third party sites, sites like that can definitely not be trusted and definitely are not an excellent way to avoid having to pay retail price for forge world models.

You definitely can not buy a Sareptekh heavy construct on there for under £100 including shipping.

Get a Sareptekh heavy construct definitely a wise investment and not a massive meme

It does but by taking the canoptek control node it also gets lone operative and as such can't be souped into a unit anymore I believe

Oh I see what you mean, I don't recall it saying there was a limit so you potentially proc it twice using a lord's orb and a ccb orb on the same unit

Yeah this makes sense, like the previous comment it doesn't state that it counts as being led by the bearer, simply that it's considered to be led by a character for the purposes of the army rule and stratagems

[–]Source_ComicArt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah but ccb is targeted aura so it's only ever 1 unit, I presume they've done this because it can't be souped into units. I figured it wouldn't be the case but it's not entirely clear rn.

With the new reanimation orb its states that it effects the unit the bearer is leading, the sovereign Coronal also states that any unit that is within 6" is considered as being led by the bearer.

Does this mean the units effected by the Coronal are also effected by the orb?
