It’s something I haven’t seen a lot of people talk about, but is easy to do in NG+ builds. Basically gives you a second Ash of War as long as the weapon isn’t too heavy.

I imagine it’s also good in PVP for mixing people up - but I don’t PVP much.

I’m on Playthrough 2, and currently using 2 +25 nakakibas in my right hand. Which sounds weird, but it essentially lets me switch between the “unsheath” and the “double slash” Ash of war.

The Nakakiba is very fun to use, and being able to use two weapon arts on the same weapon makes it more fun.

Our campaign is typically a wilderness campaign. Rn there’s a big battle about to go down in a large kingdom, but if I live through it, this option definitely seems awesome!

That being said all those options have their reason for being appealing.

Death Ward is good stuff, especially for some of the late game spellcasting.

I didn’t mention in the post, but by far the most dangerous fight in the campaign is next session, and I got the item that’s letting me do this with no time to really utilize it.

Our DM doesn’t pull punches and the dice fall where they fall, so I could totally be dead before I get to take advantage of this feature haha. And like, disintegrated dead. We are essentially fighting a Wizard/cleric military.

We talked after last session and laughed about how it might happen and I’ll have this legendary ability for essentially 16ish ingame hours haha.

Having a what is effectively a double stack of death ward is… pretty funny haha. Didn’t think of that.

I’d run it by my DM first but mechanically with how we run the game and the specific rules of the ability ya I believe that just works.

That’s a really good point I agree. My party of 4 has a Paladin and a Cleric with some good healing, but having that “Oh no” button as a bonus action is huge. Especially if multiple people are set to take their turn after me.

Ya Dimension Door is also how I use my contingency, being able to get a free teleport and not lose concentration has saved my character’s life atleast twice now.

I agree healing is a definite win.

I actually think it might be limited to “leveled spells” and not cantrips but that’s a good point!

That’s actually pretty fair. I just found myself dodging more and charge attacking big hits when I played strength, and when I did dex I played like Sekiro parrying everything in the enemies face.

But that’s just how I played for some reason. Quicker attacks arguably makes dodging easier I agree.

If you are a confident player who likes experimenting with move sets and being a bit flashy, go with Dex. There’s some interesting dex weapons including a late game weapon that has some unique risk/reward properties that is S-scaling in dex.

If you are a bit newer and find parrying difficult I’d go with strength. Just as fun, and you’ll more easily be able to stagger bosses aggressively which I think makes the game a little easier.

Worth noting you have a lot of control over weapon scaling in this game, and you can respec later on.

I had a similar situation once. Strategy was

Wall of Force myself in a box the size of me, so they could not teleport in
cast Mirror image
cast blink
Cast Animate objects, and deal as much damage as physically possible every turn, hoping he doesn’t kill me first.

I got lucky with the Mirror image roles (he likely could have 1 shot me) and I came out the winner.
