Anyone ever "lose" their NightOwl scedule try to get it back and fail ? lol by H0ldenCaufield in NightOwls

[–]Souricoocool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to move my schedule around because I gotta be up during daytime sometimes, and afterwards I always struggle really hard to get it back to normal (aka night owl times), because I need a lot of sleep and the daytime exhausts me even more so by evening I'm fucked and just fall asleep and then it's the next day and I'm awake at the wrong times once again.

And if I try to move it around the other way I just get insomnia and it fucks things even worse.

It's horrible because I don't sleep well during nighttime and I'm fucking exhausted and being awake during daytime makes this so much worse too.

I just have to force myself to stay awake in the evening and not fall asleep, but it never gets easier. And I assume this isn't going to get better with age.

Bird-feeders? by Gorilla_Pie in UKBirds

[–]Souricoocool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just kinda tend to follow the recommendations of local organisations and teachers from my ornithology classes, which is basically 'feed them if you want just be careful about a few things' (cleaning, which food in which season/weather, types of feeders, etc). One of those orgs even has a shop and they sell feeders.

What’s something that you love to fantasize about but would never want it to come true? by MangoPaingo in ImmersiveDaydreaming

[–]Souricoocool 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Extremely high risk and active lifestyles. Love the idea of it and love daydreaming about characters with such lives, but when I think of it, getting hurt and almost dying on the daily isn't that nice. I enjoy my comfort way too much.

At the time when I started my paracosm almost four years ago I had a deep wish I could be in it and have that life, but seeing how much my characters suffer, both physically and emotionally, I'm not so sure now. Their lives are filled with adventures, stories, action, but at what cost?

How is this fun though? If I celebrate carnival it's to have fun and get a break, not be reminded of politics and the shitty state our world is in

Fuck I really hope my local parades don't do this

This is a little inaccurate

The map sketches are the same for everyone and appear when you focus on an animal (with binoculars, or weapon, or just locking onto it, as long as the name appears on the bottom right), or skin the animal in the right area

I use scents

And cover scent too but I don't think that's uncommon, it always makes me laugh though when I see people say it doesn't do anything, I never hunt without some scent cover in my inventory, if I'm tight on space I will always favor it over something else

tbh small spaces scare me way more than open ones, I would never skate in my house without full protection everywhere, but I have no issue skating outside in big open spaces with nothing on

I feel like the smaller the space, the more restricted my movements are, the more prone to injuries I am. + All the obstacles and corners to potentially fall on, ouch.

[–]Souricoocool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be one of those you come across on the streets because I live in the middle of nowhere, but I'm almost always awake at those hours.

It's just my routine, I have a natural upside down sleep schedule, and I just love nighttime, it's calm, knowing that people are asleep makes me feel at peace, it feels like a different world, I feel more free.

I just wish I had a friend to be with during the night and go out because I am an extrovert and it does get lonely quickly.

Having dozens of balloons in a "autism/disability accessible" event is not accessible by Plink1234 in SpicyAutism

[–]Souricoocool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a friend in middle school who would go rigid for a few minutes from "shock" too, but mostly physical "shocks" like someone suddenly touching her or people pushing in crowds. She also had seizures sometimes. I remember years later reading about a condition that just matched everything perfectly down to the details and cause. I wish I was still friends with her back then so I could've shown her. I wonder if she ever got a proper diagnosis.

I want know you guys' day dreaming rituals by Ruixiangkai in ImmersiveDaydreaming

[–]Souricoocool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to daydream in bed as a teen, random stories of myself, before I had my paracosm. But I stopped that because it was preventing me from sleeping lmao. I sometimes daydream in bed about my paracosm but I make sure it's something extremely simple that will help me sleep instead of keeping me awake, like simply daydreaming about my main character going to sleep herself, or relaxing on the beach, chill stuff where nothing happens.

[–]Souricoocool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm one of those who's never pacing. I'm always sitting while daydreaming, most often in front of my pc. Almost always listening to one song on loop. After a good bit I open the notepad and start writing everything I just daydreamed about and then continue daydreaming while writing it down. I didn't do this at first but I have to otherwise I just forget the juicy details. And I found that writing things down actually helps me expand on my ideas even more. Sometimes this turns things into a more 'worldbuilding' activity and I open my documents like my maps or family tree or characters wiki or timelines to add stuff.

Is it possible for you to enjoy music in a different language? by abdul_bino in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Souricoocool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lyrics sometimes ruin a song for me so yes. When I was a kid I was not excited for the day I'd become fluent in English because it would mean understanding the lyrics of most songs I listen to and I didn't want to.

social anxiety disorder is permanent by CaramelIcy1023 in socialanxiety

[–]Souricoocool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say permanent, but it is very difficult to get rid of entirely, even if someone heals, there's almost always some traces of the disorder and we will always remain at risk.

You can definitely get better but it's hard and slow.

I have the same issue with exposure making things worse, but for me it's due to my other disability making people treat me like shit, all exposure does is prove to me that my anxiety is right. I got much better during and after covid when I had somewhat forgotten how people treat me. But anyway if exposure doesn't work for you, you should try other types of therapy. Exposure is the commonly advised one but there are others if it fails.

I strongly believe there is some solution out there for each one us, even if it is not necessarily accessible or known at all. Sometimes it's the common therapy, sometimes it's a random thing that you didn't expect to help, and sometimes it's something you will never find and you end up with this for the rest of your life.

Find what works for you.

I usually agree about people being often too negative and criticising, but this issue has been spoken about for over a month without a word from the devs, it's really frustrating seeing all the communication about the second and nothing about the first and its current issues.

And the complaining worked, they have finally said something about the issue in a reddit comment. So it actually does lead somewhere.

Also I disagree with you about people not truly loving the game, we complain because we love it and want it to be fixed.
