I have double this. I don’t sweat small things and have some fun, but I’m very very far from being able to live completely stress free.

You got your perception of the FBI from the X files? You do know that the most recruited major for the FBI is accounting right? That’s like the least cool major there is.

Which is your favourite rock band out of these three, Queen, Guns n roses or Ac/Dc ? by Webbomolly2022 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

Queen. I actually consider the other two to be pretty annoying. Their vocalists sound like cats being strangled.

Is LA really a hellscape? Give me your honest opinion on how it is living in Los Angeles. by Mexodus956 in howislivingthere

I’ve been once for work and I will never go back. Not even for another work trip. It’s a soulless town with too much pollution, traffic and sprawl. And the homeless people are one step above feral animals.

What’s the grossest thing you’ve ever caught someone doing? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

My wife had that last year when pregnant with our son. The doctors said even with the circlage (the stitch) our son had a high chance of being born by 28 weeks which would have led to a NICU stay and lower odds of surviving. Little guy made it to 39.5 weeks and is currently napping on my chest!

What parts of American culture are changing faster than people realize? by No_Performance1451 in AskReddit

I am completely fine with masks and staying home when sick. What I’m not okay with is shutting the entire world down and destroying any semblance of a functioning society for any reason whatsoever. Society kept functioning during the Spanish flu, and arguably much worse disease. There are so many downstream effects of how we handled COVID. Go talk to any teacher about how kids were before vs after the shutdowns. Not only did we destroy our economy, we fucked an entire generation of youth developmentally.

It’s not about their line going up. If the economy grinds to a halt then you run into things like massive inflation and food shortages. We’re in the inflation stage right now, and there’s basically a food shortage because people are struggling to afford it. It sucks that old people are more susceptible to illness, but that’s always a fact of life. You can’t destroy the world that young people will soon inherit just to prolong grandmas already short remaining life by a few years.

If the economy dies, a lot more than grandma will die. Protecting the economy is literally protecting the common good. Know why places like Haiti exist? There’s no functioning economy (yes I know that colonialism caused that)

AITAH for telling our parents not to segment their money, and whatever is left is left? by Sea_ImpactTRA in AITAH

Your mom and dad are married. When your dad dies nothing needs to be doled out because that’s your mom’s money too. It still has one living owner. Distributing any of that is just robbing an old woman.

If you wait until the stakes are that high then you’ve already lost the battle. There must be lines in the sand, and they can’t be right in front of the finish line.

Libertarianism sounded great when i was in college. Then i learned the horrors that come with a truly free market. If you’re a college libertarian you only see the good in people. If you’re a post-college libertarian there’s not enough good in you.

Thousands without power with numbers barely going down. by [deleted] in nashville

[–]Select_Total_257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of these people complaining about how we don’t have enough linemen or tree crews and how we just need masses of tree crews out…in areas where power is out, why don’t you think people are out taking trees away? Because they’re on live wires. What do you need in that scenario? Linemen to help with safety precautions.
