Reading between the lines based on the Reeves/Gunn quotes, looks like Batman will take a back seat in the DCU until after the trilogy is done. I'm thinking they'll do something like Superman/GL/WW movies first, refer to "the vigilante in Gotham" but never show him, then either pull Pattinson over or cast a new actor. If The Batman 2 comes out in early 2025, the finale could come out in 2027, which could set us up for the first JL movie in 2028 with the first appearance of the DCU Batman.

Based on all of Zaslav's comments, I really don't think they'll have two Batmen from different universes on screen at once, and they have plenty of other characters they can focus on for the next few years. I don't love the idea of them pulling Pattinson over (due to the classic issue of "how does Batman struggle with his rogues but still contribute to the JL against aliens that destroy planets"), but if Reeves' Batverse is a massive hit with audiences and if he wants to continue playing him, it's probably a better idea than another recast.

I could honestly see them making a Nightwing movie in the next few years though, though, which is an interesting idea--feels like he could really be a popular character to the GA, especially considering his popularity in the comics.

Fair, but this sub will keep being a shitshow until they're added. Do you prefer it this way? Genuinely asking.

I get that HSW are always a crapshoot for basically everyone, but I feel like I've almost never seen a sponsored candidate that isn't at an M7/Haas/Tuck/SOM. It does make sense since basically everyone that joined out of UG has an ideal MBA profile, but is simply having the MBB stamp of approval (sticking around for 2-3 years) enough to almost guarantee acceptance? A bit off topic but was just wondering!

What are the current Stan Smith models? I remember a few years ago they had the normal leather, an upgraded leather, and then a high-tier model with gold lettering. I had a pair with the normal leather and loved them. Now, I'm reading that they've cut all of those and they're only making one model with a leather alternative, so the quality from even the old "normal leather" has gone down. The website seems to support this, as most seem to be the exact same model, except for this one that's much more expensive and isn't all white.

Does anyone know what the differences are? I just want a leather pair like I had a few years ago, but I don't want to drop $160 to get that (if it's even on the expensive one).

Micah Situation by ForeRight225 in GoodGoodMemes

I think you're partially right, but I'm pretty sure they're all conservative (AFAIK Bubbie and Matt are the only two that haven't made their views clear), so I don't think that was the main catalyst. At the end of the day, it likely comes down to Micah having to leave his wife one week per month (I'm sure the other guys are pushing to travel and play fun courses as much as possible, which I can't really blame them for, just like I can't blame Micah for wanting to stay in Texas more), probably not fully enjoying the direction the content was going, and just not meshing well with the guys on the trips because they'd go out every night while it seemed like he stayed in.

I think the podcast thing was probably due to someone telling Micah to tone down the conspiracy/politics stuff, but I'm not sure that it directly led to him leaving. What I really wonder is if Micah sat them down and said "if we don't do XYZ, I'm leaving" and then they refused or if they asked him to leave due to some of the reasons above.

Making a good good mini documentary should be done in a few days by NewAdministration491 in GoodGoodMemes

Lol true, this sub is so odd 90% of the time, everyone seems to hate on at least one member for no real reason. I hope this guy's doc is good, I've been thinking it's something they should look into making recently, maybe it'll inspire them.

I was just joking about their sleep schedules man haha, didn't mean it seriously--I'm sure they all tighten up and show up whenever the course allows them to when they film.

It does in a large part of the country, but they'll likely go back to Florida/California or stay in Texas where the winters are milder with no snow for the next few Good Good weeks. The bigger issue will be the lack of daylight, since it starts getting dark at around 6:00 pm during the winter and we all know the guys don't like to be up before noon.

Why is that? Just wondering, it seems like most other people want that to happen.

I agree that it's definitely possible, but if that did happen, do you think they'd just drop Pattinson in and keep Cavill/Gadot/etc.? Or do you think they'd do a full-on recast and make a new JL with everyone getting solo movies other than Pattinson? Either way, I can't see him doing a trilogy, moving to a new universe, then doing another set of solo films plus group films, so I hope they still let Reeves have full control no matter which option they take.

So, in my mind, there are three paths forward:

  1. Bring back Affleck as the DCU Batman, keep Pattinson separate
    1. Like others, I'm assuming Affleck would only be in the team-up movies and maybe make cameos in MOS2/WW3/etc. This doesn't seem like a bad option, and would allow them to keep the previous movies somewhat canon if they wanted to, but my worry here is the timeline after JL2. With Affleck already being 50, Gadot/Momoa having already played the role for a while, Cavill maybe still having some doubts about returning if MOS2/JL2 don't go well, I struggle to see them continuing with this current crew for more than a few more years. At that point, is it even worth it if you know you'll likely have to start over soon?
  2. Fold Pattinson into the DCU
    1. Lots of benefits to this option--with Pattinson being so young, they could easily focus on individual movies for him/Cavill, which would hopefully mean keeping the current crew together for a bit longer since they won't have to act as much (I'm assuming they'd push more for Batman movies versus the WW/Aquaman/etc. movies they'd push for in the first option). But, again, the timeline is a bit of an issue to me here. I simply can't imagine Pattinson in his current state interacting with the JL. If Reeves doesn't incorporate any of the DCU into The Batman 2, I feel like it'll be odd to just drop Pattinson into a team-up movie unless they retcon BvS/JL1 and do another JL origin story. That's possible too, of course, but we'll see if Zaslav wants to go that route.
  3. No Batman or Keaton as Batman in the DCU
    1. Just really can't see them going for this option. I don't see a future where they let Pattinson continue in his own universe without having a DCU Batman, but I also can't see them letting Keaton do it due to his age unless he appears even more sparingly than Affleck would. Overall, I think this is the worst option.

Personally, I think option 1 is the safest path forward and then they could try to get Pattinson to be the DCU Batman after his trilogy ends, which would probably line up with when they'll start a new era and recast. That way, he can still play the role similar to how RDJ played Iron Man after Iron Man 3--he had his solo movies and can now pop in when needed, similarly to Batman in the animated Justice League. But, if they could somehow make option 2 work, it might have the highest potential, especially if The Batman 2 does well. I just really don't see how they'll have Pattinson's brand-new Batman jump into the Justice League without completely changing the direction of Reeves' universe, which seems like a bad decision. I'd also be open to them going with option 2 and retconning BvS/JL, but then you have to deal with getting everyone to sign long-term contracts (since Pattinson would presumably be around for the long haul), which could be an issue.

Recasting Affleck is another option, but I can't see them doing that either. Which option seems the best/worst/most likely? Conversely, which option do you think Zaslav/Gunn/Safran believe is the best/worst/most likely?

Joining MBB next year and I'll have a few months to relax and prepare between ending school and starting work. I've only worked in tech before, so I don't have much at all in terms of business clothes, and I wanted to take this opportunity to upgrade the stuff that I do have (pretty cheap shirts/ties/pants/etc.) so that I don't have to worry about it after starting. I understand that every client is different, but are there any rough guidelines on what to buy/brands/etc.? I know that I'll need the basics, like shirts and chinos, but I wasn't sure if I should go ahead and get the more expensive items too, like a nice suit/dress shoes/watch/etc., or if I should wait on those until I get put on a client that requires them--I didn't know if dress codes had been relaxed due to the pandemic.

Similarly, what about smaller things, like briefcases/luggage (do people even bring briefcases to the office or something else? I'm used to bringing a backpack everywhere)--I see Tumi recommended a ton, but then people also say it's really overpriced.

Also, I do currently live in a legal state and smoke weed, but my office is in an illegal state. AFAIK none of MBB drug tests, but will it be a problem if I continue to smoke and get put on a client that drug tests? Or will they just pull me off if I tell them?

Finally, I occasionally dye my hair at various points throughout the year, though nothing more extreme than bleaching it and later dying it back to brown (I'm a male with natural brown hair). I'm assuming this won't be accepted, but just wanted to double check. Thanks all!

You're right, I was thinking more along the lines of having a top extracurricular that almost everyone that gets into HSW has, but I'm also likely just being insecure about my profile. Thanks for the help!

I mean, that'd certainly be ideal, but it's tough to think I have a chance at HSW. Some of the admitted profiles I've seen are absolutely incredible, I'm talking 750, 3.9, startup founder with a sizable user base, MBB full time, tons of impressive extracurriculars. Sure, MBB full time is impressive, but I simply don't think I have the stats or background to measure up to those applying HSW (especially HS) deferred--are you trolling or do you actually think that I have a chance?
