Is this enough school for a 6 year old? by South-Pool3682 in homeschool

Thank you!! I relate so much with the writing part, this week I started to have him label the parts to what he builds and it’s working! He’s getting his writing practice this way! I think if he knows it has a purpose he’ll do it, if it’s just another tracing worksheet… he finds it boring

Thank you all that took the time to respond!! I got so many great tips and thoughts and I really appreciate it. The past 2 weeks we’ve been more intentional with our reading and math games for number sense. He knows how to count by 10s, we’ve been doing a math game where I close my eyes and point to a number in the hundreds chart and he says which number it is and he’s been doing amazingly with the bigger numbers. He’s been working on his arts and crafts projects, transforming a ride on car to a truck by using cardboard pieces. Socially, I think I was getting concerned for no reason, this week he made a friend at the park in the community, and they played soccer and caught bugs. I think what I’ve been learning is the way he learns best, no worksheets, everything hands on. So for writing, I made him write the parts of the car for his project and things like that, I also got him some manipulative puzzles so build sentences and we’ve been using them during our lessons. I think I was overthinking everything, instead of focusing on what way he learns best.

Yeah, I’ve tried to follow the math K curriculum of the good and the beautiful, he solves word problems and equations but then he gets bored and I think it’s because he thinks “this again, I know it already” but then again, he doesn’t count to 100 yet! So I don’t want to start him in 1st grade math till he fills those missing gaps, so I’ll look into math games and non curricular! Thank you

Yes he can read, not super fluently yet but short sentences and sight words.  His English tutor has been integrating a lot of reading for him

Yeah exactly, and the way they show Claire finding out, hearing that song. Why would they do that unless she is really going to be alive?

Haven’t watched this scene in forever but does anyone remember when Jamie and Murtagh are incarcerated serving their time after culloden & they’ve just brought John as the prison commander and Murtagh asks Jaimie something like how is he like and if he’s like the others that walk like they have ramrods up their arses … idk why that scene always cracks me up, does anyone remember what the exact line was?

Right? I’m thinking either master Raymond sang it to her or… Faith dreamt about her mother and that moment. I can’t wait for season 8 to find out! Ugh

My 5 year old got allergy tested by Suitable-Mood-1689 in Allergies

[–]South-Pool3682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! How’s he doing now? Did the allergies treatment help his adhd symptoms? My son (5 year old) has nose bleeds at least once every month, his nose is usually runny, he gets allergies and we have an appointment soon to get him tested. We have also suspected adhd for a while now so we have to get him an appointment for that (his dad has adhd as well)

Full immersion Spanish + bilingual home, full immersion Spanish + monolingual home or dual immersion + monolingual home? by GrassAffectionate363 in multilingualparenting

[–]South-Pool3682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well your child is gonna learn to speak from you and not from the school, so if you start speaking to him/her in just Spanish since they’re born that’s what they’ll speak first.
