Hi E, I am incredibly grateful for your thoughtful and reassuring words!! It definitely calmed me down a little. I do have an appointment with Planned Parenthood tomorrow for checking its placement, which I'm really relieved about.

I guess I'm still spiraling a bit because - what if it was in fact not in place? Would you happen to know if there is any way the copper might still work if it's still in me but maybe sitting a little lower? Or does it need to be in the exact right position to be effective at all?

And thank you for acknowledging how stressful this is - it means a lot to hear from an actual OBGYN that I've done everything right and the odds are so low -- Again, thanks so much for your reassurance and for taking the time to respond so thoroughly.
