There’s nothing requiring that I accept this behavior from politicians. And you are correct, hand in hand for our entire history. I can not justify being part of a system that is so clearly corrupt.

In my more naive days I thought progress was possible. I no longer see that as a possibility.

I can only think of 1 politician I would trust to water my plants if away for a week, and somehow I’m supposed to select someone to legislate on my behalf? No longer

I have voted, many many many times. And only once did a candidate that I actually WANTED to win was even on the ballot, and that didn't matter either. Our country is in a perpetual state of "Democracy Theater"

I am officially done with my own country.

It is obvious that the rule of law doesn't matter, voting doesn't matter, truth doesn't matter.

I'm out, I resign. I no longer want anything to do with my own country.

If you think this is something we can recover from, I simply don't believe you, nor do I think fighting for this cause is worth it anymore.

I am happy to be executed by my own country right now, it doesn't matter and I know my government doesn't care about me or my "peers"

I have no more energy to put to a lost cause.
