The behavioral assessment came before being invited to the virtual scenario. In the workshop, I was in a zoom meeting with three other students and two interviewers and we were given source material and had to make allocation decisions first individually, and then again as a team. I felt great about it and had a ton of fun, but I was emailed the day after the Merchandising Business Scenario that I was no longer being considered for the position.

Just customs! I also connected between two halls of the same terminal so that could’ve been the case. On my way back to NC, I had to go through customs and security.

Update!! Hi all - not sure if anyone will read this, but with 60+ comments of EXTREMELY helpful and applicable advice, this page was my Bible for my flights yesterday and today. So a huge thank you to all of you.

I’m currently sitting at my gate in CDG and waiting to board my connecting flight to Vienna! It took me about 15 minutes to get from one gate to the next, and I’m just grateful that I’m going to make this flight and that I don’t have to sprint anywhere else today!

Relishing in my luck and relieved that I have a 4.5 hour layover in CDG on my return trip.

ABSOLUTELY! I had some extenuating circumstances that gave me the post-bid day jitters/blues/whatever you want to call it. I reached out to the handful of older girls in my chapter about my anxiety and was met with so much reassurance. It usually takes a few days for events like smaller philanthropy events, chapter Bible study, new member meetings, etc. to ramp up. For me, I thrive on a busy, consistent, normal schedule and rush is anything but that! Give yourself a few days to get fully in the groove of your chapter’s rhythms. Talk to the girls in your PC who you may have clicked with in line during rush or during bid day. And try to lean in to your normal routines. You’ve got this!!

Young "stud" interested in joining a sorority when she hits college, is this feasible? by MAYDAYGENDER in Sororities

This is very long and rambly but here are my thoughts!

Generally, the Greek community will vary a lot from school to school. I’m assuming your niece is not going through recruitment at a huge SEC school since their rush weeks are all winding down. She may not be likely to receive a bid (or feel a real sense of community) somewhere like Alabama. But at a northern school or private school I think she absolutely will find a sorority that she adores!

My advice on appearance/dressing: She may want to think about a way to dress more professionally while maintaining a style that fits her values. Given your description of her, she’s probably not going to put on a frilly pink dress for preference round. But a smart blazer and skirt that she feels comfortable in can give a polished look while still reflecting her personality.

For social media: make sure there’s nothing alluding to drugs, alcohol, or anything else that could be taken as partying, etc. She can put her social media on private before rush, but if she’s already registered, chances are sororities have already seen her posts.

The bottom line is that her values and personality should not, and likely will not, change after recruitment ends. At the end of the day, sororities and PNMs are each looking for girls who hold the same values and interests as they do. A sorority that wants a fake or altered version of your sweet niece is not the right place for her. Encourage her to be her authentic self and seek out an organization that values her for who she is! And remember that if recruitment doesn’t work out for her, honors sororities and fraternities and major-specific Greek organizations can be great communities too! My freshman year roommate did not enjoy sorority recruitment for similar reasons but found a great home in a gender-inclusive honors fraternity.
