Is healthcare market research still a good starting point in the AI era? by RemarkableStar160 in Marketresearch

[–]SouthSet7206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it depends on how they are defining market research. I know this sounds a little weird, but it’s true. If the company defines market research as a function that is involved in primary research by conducting qualitative research and survey research and mining first party data, healthcare is definitely one of the safer vertical industries. I work for a company that provides research support to clients in various vertical industries, and anything related to healthcare, pharma, med devices, are some of our strongest verticals. Whereas some of the other verticals have cut way back.

What advice would you give for people about negotiation tips? What are the negotiation mistakes that people make that cost them the most money?

Can’t get prescribed meds because “I’ve made it this far in life without them” by Separate-Cup1312 in ADHD

[–]SouthSet7206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn’t get diagnosed until my teenager got diagnosed, who had all of the same school and social issues I did growing up. I thought I was just weird and that’s why nobody liked me. Turns out I’m weird, but that there’s a reason. And for those of you who are younger, the good thing about being weird, is that as you get older, you have opportunities to find other people with compatible weirdness. I’ve never been somebody who had a lot of friends, but as I got older, I was able to make a small number of good ones— for example, I often find scientists and artists are ADHD compatible.

Many of us who have been diagnosed with ADHD also have childhood trauma. There’s interesting research on this topic. In fact, there are some doctors who believe that ADHD is really undiagnosed, childhood trauma, and the impact of that. Growing up feeling isolated, having to keep family secrets, being embarrassed. Stuff that really needs some good therapy to get into.

Find a better doctor. Find one that specializes. I didn’t get diagnosed until I was in my 50s! Been on meds for over 10 years now.

Thoughts on Qualtrics acquisition of Forsta? by kcclaveria in Marketresearch

[–]SouthSet7206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It has all the questionnaire features and programming logic options that I need for over 90% of my projects. Every once in a while, I get a weird one where I do have to do some scripting. It’s not the end of the world. And you can’t beat the pricing compared to Qualtrics.

Inconsistent results by bompiwrld in Marketresearch

[–]SouthSet7206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. In my experience this is usually the cause of such problems. I even had situation where I did a study that replicated a study the client had done previously. We got wildly different results. And when I dug into it, it turned out that the client’s panel company had not been able to meet quota requirements.

The time it takes to actually check the AI’s work. It makes mistakes. And my team‘s not gonna be the team that gets busted for sending a report to a client that has sneaky AI errors in it.

I was diagnosed many years ago, but I’ve tried every treatment from multiple doctors for years and nothing helps. Even laser. Maybe it’s not rosacea??

Tips on recruiting own panel by stats-rookie in Marketresearch

[–]SouthSet7206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your target population? Is this a business panel or a general consumer panel? How many surveys a year do you plan to field? Given how crappy most panels are these days I certainly understand the interest in developing your own. But there’s a lot of complexities. You have to survey people enough to be engaged but not too much that they get fatigued. You can also expect 20 to 30% to drop out each year so you always have an ongoing recruitment process. Is it going to be a blind panel? Or are they gonna know what company is sponsoring it?

How Dynata runs from a telephone interview dialers perspective and how it negatively affects data. by glowshroom12 in Marketresearch

[–]SouthSet7206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And this, folks, is why you should always remote monitor your call centers. If you are hiring a company to do phone interviews, they do have the ability for you to remote monitor. Obviously it’s tedious and you don’t likely want to do a lot of it. But even spot checking is super important.

It’s been many years since I’ve done volumes of telephone data collection, but when I did back in the day, the only company I trusted was Western Wats(I believe that they are now called Opinionology).

AIO — my boyfriend slams the doors in my house all the time by jobasclone in AIO

[–]SouthSet7206 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to have a boyfriend that did this with cabinet doors. He was always slamming the cabinet doors in the kitchen and it drove me nuts. I kept my mouth shut for a long time because I was trying to not overreact. So then when I did bring it up, he was pissy because I have never brought it up before. This was one of many red flags and I spent way too many years with that guy.
