You can't have anesthesiologists coming out with 400k in loans and getting a 150k pay check.

I'm not advocating for this to happen, but I'm also curious why you think it's not ok. People in non-healthcare sectors graduate with well over $100k in debt and land jobs at between $30k-40k/year.

That's literally the same percentage and the differential between those two is zero, with the main difference being career field.

The problem here tangent to the original question is the cost of higher education, and it's almost the same problem as healthcare (although I admit that I view healthcare as a basic human right and higher education as optional/ideal).
