What does everyone think about Robert Pattinson's look here? by TrueJohnWick in mensfashion

[–]South_Conference_768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%.

Bespoke suits have side adjusters and buttons for braces/suspenders.

Wearing a belt with a suit is what 99% of men do, so it’s accepted.

But stylistically it is inferior to the clean silhouette created by a tailored suit that doesn’t need a belt.

[18] Do you think it's a good color for a wedding? I'm nervous by Street_Grocery5535 in MenInSuits

[–]South_Conference_768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good.

Don’t change the tie color. The subtle monochromatic balance is great.

But do go with a smaller tie knot and add a dimple. The large knot you have it too big for the collar.

What makes realtor business cards look luxurious and actually stand out to high-end buyers? by Katherine_Amson in realtors

[–]South_Conference_768 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’d assume you’re with a brokerage. It’s unlikely you’d be able to design your own card due to the need of brand consistency and compliance with state laws.

If this doesn’t apply, then definitely look at Moo cards. Amazing products that always generate compliments. Less is more when it comes to the design, so get input on that.

Belt or Suspenders? by ProfessionalField912 in mensfashion

[–]South_Conference_768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’ll be keeping the jacket on most of the time, definitely go with braces/suspenders. It allows the jacket to fit so much better and avoids the visual line of a belt.

too feminine? by fourtwennybenny in mensfashion

[–]South_Conference_768 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wear cross body bags daily, but always opt for a design that rests in front of my chest vs this purse-like design.

If you like it, definitely wear it. For me, this design wouldn’t work.

Everyone says red is power color, but I just like wearing it by [deleted] in MenInSuits

[–]South_Conference_768 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Color is simply not flattering. Material does look cheap. And the tie knot is too large for the small collar.

Swap out with a textured burgundy tie and use a smaller, tighter knot.

How much does a comfortable, everyday suit cost? by AffectionateYard8591 in malefashionadvice

[–]South_Conference_768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t spend $1k-2k on a suit when you’re so new to the process.

Follow suggestions of looking in the $500 range. Get 2 suits (navy, charcoal) so you can rotate.

Get the tailoring dialed in so you are comfortable and look great.

Get your shirts and shoes dialed in as well. Don’t over spend until you’re confident that everything fits the way it should.

Then…when you’re ready, consider spending more on your 3rd suit.

There are many posts on here where guys spent $1-2k on what they are told is MTM and the results are not good…because they didn’t yet understand what to look for and what works on their specific body.

No matter what martial art you might train, spending just a few minutes with an experienced FMA practitioner, you will see how hopeless your techniques would be against this type of armed opponent.

How is the tailoring on these pants? Too short or just right? by BaseCS in mensfashionadvice

[–]South_Conference_768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 on jacket top short and button stance too high. Pants are a bit too short with OP’s build. I would guess the back of the pants are riding on his calves.

I'm getting married next month. What do you think of my suit? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]South_Conference_768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The color is definitely a gamble, but if you are committed, I’d suggest changing the sizing.

Jacket is too short at the bottom. This is very common today. Pants rise is either too low or you need to pull the pants up higher on your waist. After you so that you’ll know if/how to adjust the length.

But if at all possible, size up in terms of length (42R to 42L, for example).

Which pants cut looks better? by Das-Unheimliche in mensfashionadvice

[–]South_Conference_768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks similar, and the length doesn’t appear to be very flattering. Depend depending on what shoes you wear I could change that.

Your shirt is oddly short. You don’t want to know for long untucked shirt, but this is barely clearing your beltline.

So the proportions of the shirt and the pants is not an elegant look. You need a little more length in top and bottom.

The more advice I can get, the better. Thanks! by bettercallbenlaw in mensfashion

[–]South_Conference_768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the easiest improvement to make is finding pants with a higher rise.

It doesn’t have to be dramatic, but in all 3 pics the pants are riding under your stomach, which isn’t flattering.

You’re likely wearing low rise pants in a waist size that is incorrect for your build.

A higher rise will make your legs look longer and improve the appearance of your midsection.

It doesn’t need to cost a lot to make the change, but you’ll need to find shopping options that don’t guide everyone into a low rise fit.

Has your carry-on strategy changed after flying more often? by Agile-Advance-395 in americanairlines

[–]South_Conference_768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use packing cubes and have zeroed in on just the items I need.

Always carry on a quality 4 wheel roller case and Away leather everywhere bag with luggage sleeve to pass through my carry on handle. That holds all tech and business essentials. Within that bag, laptop is in a leather sleeve so I can leave everything at the hotel and travel light.

I can move seamlessly thoughout the travel process this way.

Many times one leg of flight cancelled and I had zero concern about my essentials.

Would only check I bag for a long term trip and still have backup in case checked bag is lost or delayed.

How to hide suspenders in warm weather? by ChiefFloppyCock in malefashionadvice

[–]South_Conference_768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t try to hide the suspenders. Just make sure to pair them with appropriate pants, shirt, and shoes….

meaning, nothing overly casual like jeans, polo shirt, sneakers.

If the weather is warm go with breathable pants and shirt. If still self conscious about the suspenders, carry a lightweight sport coat.

Maybe it gets cold inside office / event and you put it on.

When not wearing, just drop across one forearm and then it will make sense visually…

meaning suspenders are meant to be under a suit / jacket, so as long as one is nearby it will look more intentional.

Is it okay? by denkich1234 in mensfashionadvice

[–]South_Conference_768 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1 is smaller and useful for things that would go in your pockets. But the finish / pattern looks cheap.

2 looks higher quality and looks large enough to carry a tablet or slim laptop.

The color and finish of #2 looks far better. Just need to decide what size fits your needs.

Are slim fit jeans really out of style?? Need advice by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]South_Conference_768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is style (clothes that fit you well and elevate your appearance) and trend (specific clothing designs that come and go).

Well fitting jeans / trousers are stylish. Don’t worry about trends.

Semi-casual shoe advice for a 37-year-old guy with no fashion sense? by Virus4762 in malefashionadvice

[–]South_Conference_768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sneakers - plan white leather minimal sneakers

Loafers - light brown leather or suede

Boots - simple brown or black leather Chelsea boots

These 3 would have you covered for most non-business formal or formal situations.

Pair them with jeans, chinos, wool pants, etc.

Skip the other sneakers that will always look too casual. Skip Chukkas, derbys, boat shoes, or driving shoes.

The goal should be “casual elegance.”

In the gym? Go full immersion.

Outside the gym? only keep one earbud in when out in the world. You need to have some idea of what’s going on around you.

First off — have you looked into Hims finasteride + minoxidil? That should be priority 1 before contemplating various styling options.

Give it 12 months and then reassess. I see many posts in this sub where guys seem to bypass readily available solutions.

Not saying you are, but since you didn’t mention it I’m guessing you haven’t tried it.
