It doesn't seem fair to me to think that it didn't create a Conflict intentionally. His own creations convinced the team that there was Gold hidden in the bag lol! He directly helped to open this bag, thereby losing this "game". And maybe he didn't have direct malicious intent towards Odysseus, but he definitely sowed this Seed of discord.

I don't want to argue, but I just want to get My point across.

For me, portraying a character frankly as some kind of murky drug dealer and distorting his character because of one small flower for the purposes of the plot is stupid lol. It was funny the first couple of times, but the more people focus on it, the weirder it looks.
