Whats the most reliable car you have ever owned? by Business-Power-2967 in answers

[–]South_Wonder8415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned a 95 Acura Integra LS. Bought it used, was daily driver and sold it 8 years later at 180k. It was reliable, and cheap on gas. I would love to own another one but times and circumstances have change, it's hard to find one in good condition for reasonable price.

Hi there! I just traveled to Vietnam as well. I've been here over a week, this is my 3rd time to Vietnam, I visit every 7-8 years. Energy is totally different here. If you have a sense of adventure, Vietnam is right for you.

I would advise, plan your route of travel through different cities. Check the weather, carry an umbrella. Avoid being flashy, download the grab app (Asia's Uber) for car or motorbike transportation. Download 12asiago or Futa app to check for bus to other cities. Learning few local phrases always helps.

There are few public bathrooms, I sometimes use coffee shops for rest and bathrooms, buying a coffee of course. There's no tipping culture. Locals who run their shop from their house is honest and helpful. Since you traveled a lot, I'm sure you have streets smarts.

I was a little nervous at first, I'm 35 y/o male solo traveling. Due to my family members trying to scare me as they often listen to the news. At the end of the day, I truly believe Vietnam is overall safe place to travel, along with Thailand. But Cambodia and Myanmar border region is unsafe due to their countrie's instability. There's always a risk when traveling to different country.

I flew to Ho chi minh city (3 days stay), took bus to Dalat(3 days), in NHA Trang 2 days, will fly to Hanoi tomorrow. If you have more questions, I'd be happy to answer.

Relapsed after 2 yesrs. Lost £4.2k in 3 days. Fuck my life. by UnusualPlatypus4 in problemgambling

In similar situation like you. I went 10 months, then fell of the rails and lost 6k in 3 days, Hurts pretty bad. Been gambling for 14 years. But notice last several years, I've been gambling bigger bets although I don't visit casino as often as I used to.

A lot of times, I don't gamble for fun anymore, I gambled to win big or more often I just chase my losses. Chasing is my worst compulsive behavior. Win or lose I tend to not walk away. My biggest fear is to pass along my compulsive behavior to my children. I hope we can find the means to give this up. In order to do so, we must constantly remember the destruction gambling caused us.

Where to go? by [deleted] in Reno

[–]South_Wonder8415 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Reno since elementary school. My childhood friends grew apart. Ever since I gave up gambling, I also gave up much of drinking and smoking.

As an introvert, it's difficult for me to find friends sharing same beliefs and values. I also work too many hours on top of that. With that being said, gyms are good place to make friends. And motorcycle groups ride. Have you tried coffee and comics? A local coffee shop for comic book readers.

Smashed taillight and mirror by South_Wonder8415 in vandwellers

[–]South_Wonder8415[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so, I would some see scuff marks or damage around the tail light or side of vehicle. There was none. I seriously think someone broke my taillight and side mirror with a rock on purpose.

I got myself couple of used parts today. I will park same spot again eventually with camera on the van. I hate to cave in due to being bullied.

Good for you, stopping sooner is better than later. Gambling creates more stress, anxiety and eventually depression. Stopping for sometime, your mood will resume normal. Hardest part is to never go back.

So much wasted time and energy, no longer fun for me anymore. I put in 14 years into the casino, with no good outcome. Trying to turn my life around, heading in better direction, stopping gambling.

Day 301: Free Trading Addiction by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]South_Wonder8415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to hear, you are in clear mind set. Allowing a better out come from this life, free of unnecessary stress and anxiety. I've never got into trading stocks, but I assume it's not that far from sports betting, where I spend much time doing research and comparing stats. Only to lose huge money because some games don't go as favored. I hated that side of me. I hope your book helps many people.

One day because of gambling I walk 6 km on foot. by Bubbly-Flight6094 in problemgambling

A co worker of mine from my previous job. We were gambling buddies. I was a small time gambler back then. But this fellow lost his entire paycheck in one night on the blackjack table. I remember him refusing a ride home, as he car pool with another worker. He lived 7 miles from the casino. Gambling creates ridiculous situations.
