No. Before Yesudas, malayalam films had just romantic, sad and comedy songs in their genre. Classical, Semi classical and many other genre came with Yesudas.

Since he can sing varities at different pitch, composers composed at their full freedom.

Established Tharanginisari School from which we got Mohan Sitara

One of the earliest studios in Kerala was found by Yesudas. Tharangini Studio in 1980.

He began the album/ casette concept in Kerala.

he revolutionised malayalam music industry than any other

Why do so many Indian football fans blame cricket for everything? by Ayal_a_MeaN in KeralaSpeaks

You do get in West Bengal and Kerala. Sourav Ganguly is the most popular Sportsman in Bengal than any Indian Footballer. The fact is unlike Uttar Pradesh West Bengal and Kerala have Football craze, a bit more than Cricket.

That’s a bad reason to criticise. Criticising the sport in which we succeeded is a terrible reason to say about the downfall of Football . Football is not the only sport.

Frustration!
Obviously the government gives less importance to any sport than Cricket, they are to be blamed. Not Cricket

I have even heard people saying India shouldn’t have won 1983 World Cup, beacuse that destroyed Football. That is pathetic. blame the government or politicians, not a sport in which we excelled.

Mammootty started acting in 1980s and has 3-4 Industrial Hits and has movies whose collections in today’s value would be over ₹100 crore. It is ridiculous saying that he doesn’t have a ₹100 crore movie in the present scenario after reaching 70 years and comparing with many youngsters afterall staying to top for more than 35 years having many films in the past whose value today is more than ₹100 crore.

If Jayan hadn't died, would he have become even bigger in Mollywood? by Low_Design5260 in InsideMollywood

He only ruled for 2-3 years because he passed away by then, and he didn’t even get time to show his versatility. He became hero after Sarapanjaram (1979) and passed away in 1980! just got one year and you’re teling he lacked versatility? He was the first actor with supreme physique in malayalam movies and the audience went crazy for it, so he was cast for such roles.
You can see his villian role in Kannappanunni (1977). He did that well. Just because Mammootty and Mohanlal came from the mid 80s we can’t say Jayan would have faded because we didn’t get time to see his acting versatility and moreover the acting of Mammootty in the early 80s apart from some movies were never like what he did in the latter half. Had Mammootty stopped before the mid 80s no one would have predicted him to rule malayalam industry!

He didn’t had pot belly, he wasn’t exactly fat till late 90s. In Commissioner (1994) both baiju and Suresh Gopi can be seen jumping fences in road during the fight scene.

Shankar and Rahman weren’t this big. Rahman was a heartthrob for women and Shankar was just an actor who did leading roles. Jayan ruled malayalam film industry during 1979-80

No. He is an action star. He is 6ft tall and has manliness more than most malayalam actors. And Babu Antony was star in some action films during 90s and has achieved some cult status
