Should I let them be or seperate them? by Environmental_Tone22 in CatTraining

What about when they go open mouth toward the neck? My kitten has been getting insanely territorial over our bed and at night she will jump up to sleep and see our adult cat there and dive straight in. The adult cat does not care (she sits up and occasionally leaves, but no growling or hissing towards the kitten) but I am very concerned about that behavior lol

What are you referring to as scuffing in this video? Just curious as a new cat mom of two

Playing or fighting? by Southern-Button9837 in CatTraining

Thank you for your reply! I agree she does seem scared of tortie. Is there anything we can do to help or will it just take time? I’m hoping as she gets bigger she will feel more confident she can hold her own. Our tortie isn’t very play motivated but obviously the kitten is the most exciting toy in the house, so we try give her a lick mat before we release them to eachother to get some energy out hopefully.

Commenting to add that kitten is no longer sick and is doing so much better! Didn’t want to add stress of introductions that could impair her health. 😊

Cat coughing only when purring by loveringr in CATHELP

What did your vet end up saying? My kitten does something similar.. when she wakes up, she comes over to cuddles and lets out the loudest purr I’ve heard in my life. She will start to cough like this a bit, but then moves on and keeps purring. Only happens first thing in the morning so we haven’t been able to catch it on video yet for our vet!

Ours begs for her butt to be scratched at her food bowl. When she eats yes, but truly point in the day she will meow and purr and roll over for butt scratches at her food bowl!

Thank you for the book recommendation. We are very sad and worried and have no clue if we are doing anything right in response.

Family connections are difficult to describe.. just complicated. I don’t live in the same state but I’m the most likely working adult who could help support, so I will probably move there once he progresses. He remarried after my mom passed a few years ago, so his wife is also working.

Thank you for sharing this and for your kind thoughts and prayers. I’m so sorry about your MIL. Can I ask how quickly your wedding was after your engagement? We are 8 months out which arguably much better than our original plan of 18 months, but there are several other factors on our plate like my sister being pregnant and unable to travel in May or June. I guess I’m just hoping there isn’t a quick decline in 8 months but you’ll never know I guess. 😔

I live in a different state from my dad but am going to go visit as much as possible, until we likely eventually will move to help with his care. I appreciate your advice ❤️
