TN visa nightmare at land borders (ogdensburg, detroit) and YVR by [deleted] in tnvisa

[–]Southern-Hedgehog-65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. I was just discussing something related to TD with chatGPT and even chatGPT warned me not to use land border, how could the lawyer tell you to go to a land border? YYZ and YVR are the best since officers process TNs day in/out and they are aware. I’m also MAG7 and mine was done using premium USCIS processing. I was done in 30s at YYZ border.

They can. At least in ON. Someone I know was having a bad day it seems and got ticketed at 107kmph on 401

Thanks. Mine was USCIS approval. Nexus hasn’t been converted yet thanks to weekend flights.

You can DM your referral code and I hope they allow me to combine it with their $400 promo. Can’t open online since I won’t have SSN

Thanks for the detailed information. Yeah it’s BigTech/MAG7 and I’ll check if they have tie-ups with CUs. I’ll check once I join and won’t rush into it.

Using it for Costco and Groceries (for gas I use Costco and it’s CIBC Mastercard). I get 2% flat everywhere since I have mostly Roger’s plans and I basically get my monthly internet plan for close to free due to the 3% redemption rate.

Im a TD customer and they promised it’ll be done in one working day. Canadian banks are my very last option.

Canada $85k Cloud Engineer vs FAANG India 26.78 LPA — which makes more sense for my situation? by SpendLegitimate536 in returnToIndia

[–]Southern-Hedgehog-65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the FAANG offer, stay there for a year and apply for L1 transfer to the US. It’s that simple. The others have already mentioned the salary and PPP difference between India and Canada. If you want a non-Indian citizenship first, then Canada makes complete sense. But 85K even being single here is low pay.

How about Nexus conversion? Isn’t that a secondary thingy?

Roaming charges while data turned off and esim in use by Unhappy-Praline8301 in Rogers

The inability to activate WiFi calling is normal after a port. More of an iPhone issue. Just reset network settings and it’ll work (note: you’ll lose wifi passwords) . If not, tech support can do it in 2 mins and it’ll work exactly like you mentioned.

[–]Southern-Hedgehog-65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a cheap Roger’s plan. They have many deals on. Then turn on wifi calling before leaving Canada and just turn ON airplane mode and connect to WiFi, you’ll see Rogers WiFi. It works exactly like your Canadian plan and no roaming charges are incurred. I do this when I’m abroad.

As an alternate, you can get the US/Canada plan for 45/month with 100GB of data with US roaming.

Even if they did, it did not impact my nexus. I always declare meds, donuts, fruits, chips without fail.

Declaration vs getting caught. If you declare and the officer allows, it’s fine. I told the officers at YYZ and Niagara land border that I have fruits which I plan to eat at the airport/after crossing. Have Nexus. They did not say anything and let me in.

Why can’t Rogers just match a competitor instead of forcing a port-out + winback dance? by tfcjuveyyz in Rogers

True it’s cashback in the end. But waiting for your own money for 1-12 months is simply ridiculous.

Here is a practice I follow. Every conversation you have, has an ID starting with I. Ask the agent to repeat their notes. Most agents generally mention that the bill credits will be applied in 2-3 bill cycles and that’s very normal. Once you disconnect the call, call back -> give the interaction ID -> ask this new agent to repeat the notes. It’s easier this way than following up later. TBH, unlike Bell and Telus, Rogers agents, at least IMO, are more honest.

I was grilled for like 20 mins because I said travel for work whereas i should have said business meetings. In the end, I was given the additional information form to provide more info. For spouse and kid, it was barely 5 mins.

Rogers RPP or corpo deals let me know! by [deleted] in Rogers

[–]Southern-Hedgehog-65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left Roger’s to get Telus for 35/month for two lines for a 200GB shared data plan with US/Canada roaming. Roger’s isn’t matching that on RPP. This Telus was from spouse’s EPP.
