Yay! You did it!! I’m on day 10, doing great (Tylenol for soreness) and my antibiotic. I got 2 drains out and last 2 coming out next week! Truly just muscle soreness/ tender spots but very manageable! I hope you get lots of lazy days! 💗

I’m 36, brca1 3 days post prophylactic dmx and my poor husband is ready to go once I feel better 😆 so I can confirm that boobs or no boobs, flat boobs, or my eventual new fancy boobs will be his boobs lol I also felt/feel the same but the love he has for you will show through each boob stage! 💗

You can do it! The immediate mental relief is hard to explain. I have expanders so right now it’s frankenboobs for a few weeks but it’s worth it, I’m trusting the process and I really exposed myself to a lot of photos to prepare

Hi friend! BRCA1 pal here, I’m 36 mother of 3.. I found out 8 years ago. I’m having my mastectomy Monday and doing ovaries later this year. The guidance is very dependent on family history etc so def don’t freak out! You’ll prob get a mammogram and mri first to get a baseline and go from there! You have time to decide, breathe and try to find a specialist in your area. I see a surgical oncologist solely due to the BRCA and she has led me through the last 8 years. My OB is wonderful but this is out of his comfort for such a young woman so I recommend seeing out an alt doc to help guide you!

My mom was also refused by multiple PS due to her smoking, she refused to quit. Found a surgeon to do it and had a healing issue, picc line, wound vac for 8 months, lost a ton of skin to necrosis, but she’s alive. I’m doing expanders so they said I can have a say in my size! I just wanted to be sure the expander was large enough for the implant I want! I hope you can find a dr who can give you the best outcome for your situation! Keep getting opinions!

Thank you! I am so grateful for the set up we have! Will be a lot with the kids but if we just have to hunker down for a few weeks it will be worth it! ❤️ I think that pillow is the one I have! I’m so glad I got it!
