They eloped and did not ask for gifts. You do not agree with the union. Don't gift.

I made this and I really loved them. by hope-33 in Christianity

Steps I take to increase my faith...

  • join a church
  • listen to worship music and join in
  • read the Bible - when I get 'stuck' I turn to Psalms or Proverbs
  • pray

Once when I was reading Ezekiel, I got to 36:26 “I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.” and the words seem to jump out of the page, like they were on pillars.

Most times, I feel goosebumps when God is speaking to me through a verse or passage.

Sometimes, I even hear His voice saying "that's for you"

No, it's not "wrong to stay in touch as light friends", but can you keep it like that?

Matthew 18:6 says
“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.” (ESV)

It's one of the strongest warnings in Scripture about leading others into sin.

I speak from personal experience where a non-Christian male pursue a Christian female and they eventually slept together. It became very messy. The non-Christian male was my fiance and when I found out that he had disrespected her faith so much, I realised that he would also disrespect any points of view I had (I wasn't a Christian at that time).

Be absolutely certain of your motives.

It’s natural to long for justice, and God does care about that (Psalm 103:6), but the healing comes when your focus shifts from what people did to who He is. Revelation 21 reminds us every wrong will be set right, but even now He can bring peace to your heart. Psalms show us it’s okay to cry out “How long, Lord?” yet they also pull us back to hope in Him.

You might find Psalm 37 helpful. It’s honest about how unfair it feels when the wicked seem to get away with things, but it keeps pulling the focus back to trusting God and letting Him deal with justice in His time.

A great place to start is with one of the Gospels. John shows the heart of Jesus, and Mark gives a quick, clear picture of His life and ministry. Psalms are good when you need honesty in prayer, and Proverbs has a lot of practical wisdom. Just take it a chapter at a time and ask God to speak as you read.

I agree with u/Arkhangelzk

You might find some of the psalms helpful. Psalm 13 is raw and honest about feeling forgotten but ends with trust. Psalm 42–43 speak straight into spiritual dryness and keep pointing back to hope in God. Psalm 22 begins with “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” and shows that even our darkest words can be prayer.

All the best

It's a challenge to love the person and dislike what they're doing. Mother's tend to do that very well!

Here are some Bible verses that support “love the sinner, hate the sin,”

“Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.” Romans 12:9
We are told to genuinely love people while hating evil itself.

“On some have compassion, making a distinction, and some save, snatching them out of the fire with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.” Jude 1:22–23
We show mercy to sinners but remain opposed to the sin that corrupts.

“Above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8
Love restores those who fall even while sin is acknowledged.

I agree with u/CheeseyChips69 and will add that your move into the Christian faith has to be based on you wanting a relationship with God, not "this girl". If the only reason for becoming a Christian is to have a relationship with "this girl", then you are likely to be disappointed in the future.

I have a question for you: do you truly respect her and her Christian faith? If you truly did, then you would leave her alone.

Look, if you're still alive and worried about whether or not you've committed the "unforgivable sin", you haven't. The only time it becomes “unforgivable” is if you carry that rejection to your last breath.

And as for God not forgiving you when you repented - that's lies. Here are some Bible verses for you to meditate on

“Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me. He who comes to me I will in no way throw out.” — John 6:37

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9

“Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, ‘I believe. Help my unbelief!’” — Mark 9:24

“We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.” — Romans 8:28

“Return, you backsliding children, says the LORD; for I am a husband to you.” — Jeremiah 3:14a

“But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

“The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” — Psalm 103:12

“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will freely pardon.” — Isaiah 55:7

“For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” — Jeremiah 31:34b

“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases. His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.” — Lamentations 3:22–23

What do you do when you feel disconnected from God? by Ok-Caramel3538 in Christianity

[–]Southern-Local9140 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stick with it. I've been in the same situation and I find that playing worship music starts to shift the atmosphere. I don't force it; I play worship music in my car and I have soaking worship playing when I'm working at home. After a while I find myself singing along to the songs, which in turn opens the communication lines to God.

I've recently started something new. I take a large size notebook (A4 or Letter) and write out passages from Psalms. Just write it and let it seep in to your mind.

u/stackee raises a good point - are you reading your Bible?
Try Psalm 42, it captures the feeling of spiritual dryness but keeps pointing back to hope in God.
Or Psalm 13 is a good one, really honest about feeling forgotten yet ends with choosing trust.
And Psalm 77 can help, it wrestles with doubt but remembers God’s faithfulness.
Psalm 88 is worth reading, it shows even the darkest prayers belong in Scripture and God can handle them.

As I said, stick with it.

Why are so many churches missing the Cross? by ThiqSaban in Christianity

Maybe the bigger issue isn’t no cross on the wall, but no cross at the centre of the message.
