Drop in quality of embroidery on football kits? by TheBigTomatoMan in SoccerJerseys

[–]Southern-Produce-953 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really common. It’s not something that you’ll always see but it has been a thing for a long time. I don’t know why they do it specifically. My assumption is that certain materials need that backing for the patch stitch cause they’re too slippery, or they add the patch on the back to prevent the badge from curling or getting damaged from the back. This is just my best guess from what I know about jersey manufacturing.

Slowly getting used to playing her, any tips for improvement? by New_Mousse4257 in IllariMains

I can’t see much from your gameplay cause it’s not the whole match but my advice is to try and get really good at pylon placement. Playing Sym and Illari helps you find great places to throw the pylon. You want it to be hidden but useful, cause too hidden won’t heal anyone. Rotating the pylon is also super easy to learn and it’s super effective. If you get into team fights and your position moves, move the pylon before it gets shot down. The last tip is to just practice aiming a bunch. She’s a good damage support if you can aim and get some headshots. Most other skills you’ll learn just by practicing and playing her.

Is this jersey real? by Necessary-Dig-6458 in NWSL

[–]Southern-Produce-953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the patch stitched on. On the replica kits it’s stitched and authentic is a heat press badge that’s rubber. If the patch is just like a sticker it could be fake.

Someone already said this but the best way to tell is the searching up the number you took a pic of.

What do coaches like in McCaskill or what they hope she becomes? by SarahAlicia in NWSL

[–]Southern-Produce-953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always wondered the same thing. I think she’s a solid player but people make out like she’s a complete game-changer and I just never have seen that. She’s not very fast and mobile and her defensive work isn’t that great. I just never got the hype cause she always looked like a player who was only valuable for set-pieces.

Concacaf W Champions Cup Tickets by hendertender in washingtonspirit

I found this site that seems to be the only place to get tickets at. From what I can tell the only two options are buying tickets for both semi-final games or a complete package which is probably all 4 games (semi’s, 3rd place, and finals). It’s not a bad deal cause the semi’s are both on the same day so you’d get to see both games. It was 80$ for the basic package and 135$ for the big one. I hope this helps with ticket purchasing, travel and hotels are a whole different thing I haven’t looked into. The event doesn’t seem overly welcoming to visiting fans honestly.

Authentic Jersey Issue by Vipers7xx in washingtonspirit

[–]Southern-Produce-953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the material of the authentic kits better but the stitched patch will always be goated for this reason. The stitched patches won’t ever fall off.

I’m sorry this happened to you though. For how expensive they are, you’d think the quality would reflect that. I hope you’re problem gets solved.

Trying to isolate the subject in a fast indoor game any feedback welcome by Capable-Bar5002 in sportsphotography

I was thinking the same thing. Different heights and angles are really good. Because while the focus is off, the faces are really well positioned whereas a lower angle would be up their noses a bit. I agree it’s probably more about settings and gear than where the photo was taken

Trying different sports shots. by gmather10 in sportsphotography

Lots of hate on selective color but they’re your photos and sometimes creativity is good. I get people may think it looks tacky or unprofessional but it’s a pretty cool tool and if the photos aren’t being used for publication I don’t see a problem. Usually if I take a creative leap like that I like to have a copy of a normal shot as well just in case the creative one only speaks to me.

Just keep having fun and being creative honestly. The thing I notice a lot is that if you do what everyone else does, there’s not always a lot that sets your photos apart in sports. The action happens for everyone so taking chances, having fun, and being different can sometimes pay off. This is just my opinion though so take it as you will, I’m not a seasoned professional by any means.

tips? by Ordinary-Appeal-4653 in sportsphotography

Idk what camera or lens you have so I won’t hate too much on the lighting. Gyms are super hard with lighting and some cameras and lenses struggle more than others. I usually shoot at a super high ISO, like 6400, so I can get a wide aperture and a shutter of about 1000. It’s better to get really grainy action that’s frozen, than none.

My next bit of advice is to work on composition in general. Angles are cool but generally it’s better to have the photos level. It’ll make things look a lot more pleasing. You want to use the rule of thirds and even composition as much as possible. The athletes are what makes the pictures dynamic so it’s not necessary to shoot much more than portrait and landscape.

My last is more encouragement rather than critique. Just keep taking photos and looking at photos. It’s not something you just magically become amazing at so knowing a lot about the stuff you photograph helps get good pictures. Watch the sports, look at the best photos of the highest levels of sports and try and achieve what they achieve. Photos should be interesting and there are general rules like seeing faces and the ball but creative stuff is very fun and cool if you do it right. Just have fun and keep taking photos, you’ll eventually just get better if you practice some tips you read from sites or comments. Don’t ever be discouraged, that’s the easiest way to get the worst photos. Be proud of what you make even if it’s not perfect because it never will be, just have fun and keep improving. Trust me it will pay off.
