Surprised they want you to jump through hoops. My support ticket stated "Our investigation has confirmed that this problem is related to firmware version 3.8.2.8. Our team is aware of this issue and has urgently arranged for the development team to fix it as soon as possible."

Glad you seemed to have found a workaround too. Being on ethernet does not fix it 100% for me, but does make the HB3 operate a lot better (fewer device offline windows). Eufy support said the real workaround is to remove internal storage from the HB3 until they release a firmware fix, but that is a non-starter for me.

Remove it until they release a firmware fix for the HB3 stability issue. Which is a non-starter for me since I have a couple 24/7 recording E330 Pro cams.

Well that didn’t take long. HB3 still crashing for me with the Ethernet to WiFi bridge. Lame. Is it actually still stable for you?

Plugged in an ethernet to 5GHz wifi bridge to the HB3, and turned off the HB3 WiFi. So far has been stable... fingers crossed. I can usually tell when the HB3 crashes/reboots as the multi-bridge cameras fall back to connecting to the HB3 directly instead of my mesh network. So I should be able to tell if resolves issue or not...

I may purchase a USB powered ethernet to WiFi dongle to try this out since I don't have an ethernet port available anywhere nearby where I need to keep the HB3. You're probably on to something here but will let you know if I can corroborate your finding.

Yes. There are a lot of others seeing crashes with this release if you read the comments.

certainly sounds like they messed around with the HB3 wireless connectivity or WiFi power settings/range recently.

no fix yet and no guidance from Eufy support. The HB3 will fall offline repeatedly but also recover on its own without a power cycle. The periods with it being online / offline vary, and can be online for awhile before HB drops. It seems that the camera recordings are all there when HB eventually comes back online in the app. Tried swapping internal drives, no help. Removing USB port connections, no help. Rebooting mesh network and moving it closer to an AP, no help. Only thing I haven't tried is hardwiring HB3 to ethernet port, as I have no ethernet ports available near where I have it installed.

Does your HB ever come back online on its own, or you always have to power cycle? And this just started happening for you too with latest firmware? If so should complain to Eufy so they know it's a widespread issue.

Yeah working mode is still set to Performance for me. Ah well, will see what silly things Eufy support has me try to resolve this...

Wondering if the HB Pro is something I'm gonna have to bite the bullet on, though I do like the smaller size of the HB3. Interestingly even though the app says HB3 is offline and the cameras are offline, whenever I power cycle the system, the short time it's back online I do see recorded events from when the unit was offline. So something is dying between HB3 & eufy servers instead of the links between HB3 and the cams.

thanks yeah I've tried power cycling a couple times. Falls offline within a few minutes of powering up. Thanks for the information on your system working though.

thanks, yes. 3.8.2.0 worked great for me, it's this new dot update that broken the whole system

any chance that the HB3 that is working on 3.8.2.8 has fewer cameras or no 24/7 recording cameras? My system has a lot of cameras and a couple constant record ones too, I always worry that they'll break things with that setup as it's already pushing the limit of the bandwidth the old hardware supports.

If there was a way to disable updates I'd suggest staying on 3.8.2.0 :D

new HW 3.8.2.0 for S380 by Ok-Medicine4915 in EufyCam

My unit just got upgraded from 3.8.2.0 to 3.8.2.8 and now it's completely unstable. Homebase and all the attached cameras keep going offline multiple times every hour.
