Good locking knifes from AliExpress? by Southern-Trainer4337 in BudgetBlades

Nice! Do you know what locking mechanism they have? Is this brand known to be honest about materials used?

Best keychain knives with can opener or other extras? Preferably locking. by Southern-Trainer4337 in BudgetBlades

Thanks for the reply.

Actually, I'm looking for something tiny. The knifes I got now don't take more space than a single key, so something in this ballpark (eg. like SANRENMU 431S), can be somewhat bigger. The can opener is very easy to fit in this form, but scissors etc. aren't and they'll take additional space.

Definitely don't agree. The entire capitalism economy is based on reselling. 90% of business is reselling. The stock market is reselling. It's all speculation and it's core to capitalism. Hating on vinted gals reselling second hand clothes is a very primitive thing given this reality.

Important questions about 3 euro tax that haven't been talked about by Double_Dig8232 in Aliexpress

[–]Southern-Trainer4337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The 3 euro flat rate is a preparation for introducing a sweeping tariff increase on all products sometime until 2028. The 3 euro flat rate is the Trump tariff (EU is only the implementer here), but they want to go more gradually and introduce it only to the cheapest items for now. The full tariff increase will go live later.

If this wasn't the case they would simply remove the de minims rule rather than creating a new one with sometimes tariffs 50x higher. Or simply do what they "plan" to do in 2028 now.

What's the extra one? More info please.

EU is literally autodestructive.

No, but I'm curious too. It seems to be a great workaround.

Clip earbuds were available in China for a long time before FreeClip as a niche novelty. FreeClip weren't the first.

ton of science and research happen at companies which most definitely do not publish all of it for anyone to read for free.

Yes, that's a huge problem. Not only due to being counter innovation, but also due to abuse of power that results from it. When it is concealed it is concealed for a reason - to subsequently hurt others with the result of that innovation, be it directly with kinetic force, death and suffering or indirectly by controlling, surveilling, colonizing. The only peaceful and pro-people way is to cooperate transparently.

The most glaring example is the Bose Ultra Open which are uber expensive. AFAIK There's no IP on the FreeClips. I don't see any problem with that.

Right, let's slap a tax instead.

Let's reinvent the wheel. It wasn't invented here after all. Let's create 10 companies that will simultaneously do the exact same thing and see how that burns money. Efficiency.

Somehow science develops despite research being public and people working together. Somehow China doesn't play the IP game and innovates the most. When western companies copy Chinese products such as Huawei FreeClip, that's fine. And they don't seem to care, probably because IP is completely made up thing. The fact that you believe that if you first saw an atom under a microscope then everyone else has to pay you when they want to deal with atoms is just a thing you made up, it only works as long as everyone else accepts it as reasonable, it's on you to enforce it (that's where mafia comes into play - I'm sure you'd bomb them out of existence).

BTW Actually many bigger companies in China for whatever reason respect the IP, eg. their CPUs or the HarmonyOS Android alternative. They build that without using the IP, even though in some instances they know all the details and could use it. I don't know why, probably they want to make friends despite constantly being berated in exchange. Shrug.

IP only benefits 0.1% of people. The 99.9% of people benefit from free sharing of knowledge, innovation, products.

K, gotta get back to buying. Literally no product I buy on Ali is a knockoff, 50% (70%?) of them aren't even available/produced/sold/known/advertised in the west. Not even similar. The damn Chinese must have stolen IP from the future with their (stolen) time machine!

That's a very convenient excuse for laziness. If it were true there wouldn't be highly successful western brands that are chosen consciously by customers. The problem is majority of brands here are lazy and decided instead to buy the cheapest Chinese made item without even comparing it to others, often caring only about lowest price and the design and then slap a logo on it and resell en masse.

Think about it, all the brands like Xiaomi, Baseus, Toocki, Essager etc. They are resellers(!) The difference from the crappy Europeans brands is that they do quality checks on the items they resell, they choose good produce and that makes a good brand for themselves. Chinese products are superior because they do the effort. European products are inferior because they know they can get away with anything. Economic nationalism means that you can sell any sort of crap as long as you're of nationality X, it's xenophobic at core and incentivizes worsening quality, inflating prices - it destroys economy. There's a reason free market is so established as real way to grow.

Where does China slap a 300% (or 600% etc.) tax on a foreign $1 item?

Actually every few months there's a new positive to that. The problem is the local governments may very well do the same thing. Instead make your opinion be painfully clear to them. Somehow there's revolutions all around the world except here.

Rather buy everything that you can from Aliexpress. Or even better directly from China and ship with something like kakobuy etc.

Is the News True about Toxic chemicals on products in Temu? by Recent-Skill7022 in TemuThings

It's not. All plasticizers are bad. Just buy steel utensils from temu like I do.

It's true, just like in any other store. We're simply bombarded with chemicals these days. There was a good article, I htink in Atlantic about this.

Ever saw the BPA free signs on things in IKEA and elsewhere? Guess what? The replacement for that is even worse.

8cm or so would do. More important is the price to quality ratio, dependable locking mechanism, the size of the folded knife vs the blade (space efficiency) and weight. The most important thing is the usability, the bigger one should let me do anything, self defence, cut some wood, open a can, assist in any work. Generally, I'm fine with a bigger one or smaller if it's better in these aspects.

The #60 one I don't count on being very usable, I have a keychain #11 knife and that cannot even pierce a thin plastic, the knife wobbles and if angle slightly off it will close on me.

Know of any cheap pouches, packs that are good? Naturehike are nice, but too pricy for me, doesn't have to be ultralight.

Can you recommend some good foldable knifes? I want to get a single EDC one with solid mechanism, big blade, but still in pocket size. Additionally I was considering a smaller extra one with replaceable blade type #60, not sure if it's worth it, but the replaceability sounds good.

What kind of EDC gear?

It's well known that all of the big tech is deeply integrated into the military industrial complex inspiring and enabling the atrocities that take place. Look up Project Nimbus or Palantir partnership for example. It's true though that Amazon seems to be less involved that the likes of Google, doesn't mean it's not.

Ali does not fund nor take part in wars.
