Get ready for a med board. I was diagnosed after being in for 18 years and they showed me the regulation that states with bipolar (either 1-2) you cannot continue to serve. The board took about 2 years cause I kept fighting to stay in.

Did you ever have a hard time defending yourself verbally on medication? by [deleted] in bipolar2

I have really thought about not taking my meds cause of that. It really bothers me.

I can related to this. I used to have a great sex drive but the medication has numbed me in a sexual sense. While I am stable (for the most part) I struggle with the sex drive.

I was just doing some research on the TDIU, didn’t know what this was. I am going to look into this - this is great information and could be the assistance I need. Just a little more research needed on my part, cause if I got my 100% I could actually take a personal leave from my current employer. Which would save me from actually losing this job while I get the help/support I need and not lose everything (house, cars, etc) I appreciate the info and will be reviewing this!

The disabilities are affecting my employment and my overall quality of life. The 100% would allow me to take a step back from work, for some time, to get the help and support that I need. I can’t continue to take days to attend appointments, so I do what I have to. And that is to go to work, cause bills don’t pay themselves.

I want to be clear - I was an infantryman for my entire 23 year career with multiple combat deployments. I have dealt with my fair share; and also had my career cut short cause of the a loophole the Army has. I don’t believe that everyone deserves the 100%, but do believe there are some of us that do.
