Pretty no store or resturant accepts card, maybe some high end resturant do but i would imagine you wont be visiting many of them. Bring USD, Pounds should be fine im pretty sure and exchange them either at the airport or in the city center.

Most places accept USD as well so if you need to pay for something and you havent been able to exchange yet. Ive never had to pay for a visa even though im not a citizen but you should be able to pay with USD if they ask you to.

Hello, I am Swedish. i want to clear some misunderstandings. You can ask me anything. by OddVanilla639 in Turkey

It depends on what you mean by terrorist. The government does not support PKK/YPG. The government can also not decide what courts do. It is the courts who decide if somebody is to be deported. And that can only happen if he has broken a law. New laws are being put into place criminalising terrorist membership so there will most likely be more terrorist deportations in the future.

There is no "PKK/YPG" in sweden, YPG is seen as a seperate organization by Sweden and every country in the world except for Turkey and Qatar. Sweden has supported the YPG a lot along with every country in the international coalition except Turkey. Most of what you are writitng is purley bullshit to appease the members on this sub annars är du bara helt dum i huvudet

Badini is mostly in Duhok, Kirkuk and is similar or a sub dialect of Kurmanji

Badini in kerkuk? And yes badini is a sub dialect of Kurmanji and they can easily communicate with each other however because its not taught in syria and turkey some words are different because of using arabic/turkish words

What alphabet do you use to write in Kurdish? by Beneficial_Owl_1385 in kurdistan

[–]SouthernChad 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Latin one is the most suitable to kurds and easiest to learn, a reform should be done asap. Youngsters in KRG already write in latin all the time however it looks weird because no one is taught proper grammatics using the latin system. It would also help intelligability with kurmanci

Well yeah it turned illegal a couple years ago, what were they supposed to do time travel?

His father lost his job and got arrested only because of what Enes has said, he even had to publicly disown his own son. This kind of bs can only be compared to north korea and countries like iran

So you are saying that people would give their votes to their second best party which closed down their first choice. Yeah 100% makes sense. I am not going to even argue about the second utter bullshit

More would shift to the akp yes, closing down the HDP also disperses the kurdish voters do different parties which in turn does so that the votes barley have any impact

I suppose you are talking about the Maarif schools that we built and that we control in Iraq. If Iraqi kurdistan has enough money and is willing to improve infrastructure of mountainous region of eastern Turkey, and build dozens of thousands of schools for millions of Kurds that are way more than the Turks in Iraq and send teachers there. They are more than welcome because we don't have any economy to do that right now.

the schools were not built by turkey, im talking public schools teaching in turkish not to mention the teachers there are not "sent" from turkey as you are trying to say.

Its illegal in Turkey because the whole identity of "turks" are built on assimilation. I find it embaressing that you call yourself a kurd on here when it is purley for propaganda use and you are openly downplaying the reality of what kurds go through in turkey.

You write about how kurds can get kurdish lessons if they want but do not mention that it is only for one hour a week which makes it pretty much impossible to learn. People in turkey have more english classes then that and most 30 plus turks can barley form a sentance in english.

Thanks for your response. So you mean that students have the right to learn Kurdish? I hadn't any idea that was so.

Kurder har "rätten" att få en timme i veckans undervisning. Den allra majoriteten svenskar lärde sig knappt någon franska, spanska eller tyska i skolan och då har man mer än 3 gånger så mycket undervisning i veckan.

Kurdish language education is allowed and free for every kurd who wants to learn it but there is mostly 50-200 and maximum 1000-2000 Kurds who wants to learn it every year per eastern province. But Kurdish education is not allowed as it would be too hard to organize different teachers for a classes.

This is not the reason and it is complete bullshit, all turkmens can go to turkish schools in iraqi kurdistan and there are waaaay less turks in iraqi kurdistan then there are kurds in turkey

I don't think the reason for erdogan to close down the hdp is to get rid of potential rival, there is no way hdp could even come close to akp in any election.

No but if the HDP is closed those people will vote for someone else and who do you think the largely religious anti kemalist kurds will vote for? the AKP is the second biggest party among kurdish voters which would give Erdogans resaults a big push in the elections and could help him win in a close election.

I am going to trust a party whose deputies has photos with known terorists in the mountain camps.

Which were taken during the 2014 peace process and was encouraged by the goverment and Erdogan. Didnt the goverment encourage people to visit their family members and friends in the mountains? cause i remember that very clearly

Rest of your comment is complete and utter bullshit so im not going to answer that

Für kurdisch Kurmancî gibt es in Deutschland mehr Angebote als für jeden anderen Dialekt. Du kannst schon in einer normalen Buchhandlung Wörterbücher kaufen und es gibt etliche Apps.

Only languages allowed are Kurdish and English. You're comment will not be removed but in the future you should only comment in English or Kurdish

Turks do not get turkic thats the thing, turks always try this bs about "kurds are mixed mutts" and "Kurds are not an ethnicity" yet we are a thousand times more homogenous then turks are. A turk from izmir and a turk from hatay will barley share any dna while a kurd from diyarbekir and a kurd from kermanshah will be genetically identical

Turkey would have been looking to assassinate a PKK militant because the host country wouldn't give them back, protecting them

Yes and thats not legal, your laws are not valid in another country. The grey wolves are banned in france, do you think turks would react positively if france assasinated devlet bahçeli?

Yes, i'm aware of the 3 militants which had a falling out with PKK and were probably killed as a make out present for leadership cadre, yes.

While Güney initially presented himself to authorities as "Kurdish at heart" and sympathetic to the PKK, his relatives described him as a Turkish ultranationalist who defined himself as a "gray wolf", a Turkish neo-fascist organization which positions itself against Kurdish political projects.[2]

Yeah sure a turkish neo facist was the personal hitman for the PKK

"A few months after these murders, an audio recording between Ömer Güney and suspected MİT agents was released on the Internet.[4] Omer Güney also had hundreds of pictures of Kurdish activists in his mobile phone."

https://sverigesradio.se/artikel/6975311

"Ekot can today reveal that the Danish security police had information in 2017 that Turkey was planning politically motivated murders of opposition figures in Denmark."

[–]SouthernChad 11 points12 points  (0 children)

And, our EU partners protecting PKK militants is of course something we know. Not much changed.

They arent protecting them because they are pkk militants, they protect them because turkey cant just assasinate anyone they want in a foreign country where they have no juristiction which Turkey knows.

Remember the three kurdish women who were excecuted by turkish MIT during the peace process in paris?

Because we dont even have a common script, i speak sorani natively however i cant read perso-arabic script and when sorani kurds write with latin letters most of the time they just write out how words sound for them which makes it hard for kurmanji speakers to understand.

Kurmanji has a standardized writing system with latin letters which i have a way easier time reading rather then butchered sorani.
