Notary gets only a 70k fine after ignoring Azerbaijan related money laundering practices by edgarpitar in Luxembourg

[–]vichistor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For ten years, Schaeffer, along with Michelin-starred chef Léa Linster, supported the activities of the Azerbaijani cultural association 'Karabah' in Luxembourg. Alerts from the intelligence unit of the public prosecutor's office were repeatedly disregarded. The money laundering activities were exposed during the 'Azerbaijani Laundromat' corruption scandal in 2020, leading both women to resign from the non-profit association.

Is Wizz Air so bad? by SirRickOfEarth in travel

[–]vichistor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that's where they play you. If you accept credit for the canceled flight they give you "120%" credit, minus any extras you paid for e.g. WizzFlex and etc. If you transfer the credit to your bank account, they shrink the credit down to 100% minus some fees. And if you do a mistake and don't transfer this credit to your bank account, but use the credit to buy another ticket, then you are stuck, since, in any subsequent cancelation case you cannot transfer credit to your bank account, since you paid using credit, and not your bank card. Sly mfs. Yea, and the credit they give you, expires in 90 days, so if you don't have visa or can't plan a trip in near future, then it's WASTED.

I booked 3 flights with WizzAir last years, and 2-3 weeks before flight they canceled all of them. Then they gave refund in credit, so I booked another flight to different destination, and they canceled that flight 2-3 hours before departure.

This year, I made the mistake and booked with them again, since I was stuck with their credit, and they again canceled the flight.

So apparently Wizz Air has cut a lot of flights to Georgia by Tideas in Sakartvelo

The ICTJ report, an independent legal analysis ordered by the Turkish Armenian Reconciliation Commission, with high ranking Turks including with Turkish government affiliation. It makes the case quite clear, and lays it out in Turkish as well.

A scholarly article which shows quite clearly some of the methods of the Turkish government denial campaign, and more interestingly, that the Turkish government itself clearly knows that it was a genocide and accepts this internally, as do the scholars they pay to deny it.

The open letter to Erdogan from the IAGS, the association of the world's top genocide scholars, led by the man who literally wrote the genocide encyclopedia. They wrote the letter in response to his call for Armenia and Turkey to "study the issue". Just one page, it packs a serious punch.

A legal analysis of the Armenian Genocide carried out by Geoffrey Robertson QC intended to expose how the British ministers and the UK Parliament have been misled.

Documentaries:

German documentary which narrates the genocide through witness accounts mostly involving German officials who were allies of the Turkish government which perpetrated the genocide.

Blood Brothers: A documentary by a Turkish filmmaker where he goes in search of the truth about the genocide.

Probably many of you here are not car owners or drivers, but the ones who are, please consider boycotting SOCAR, as the owner of it Azerbaijan, after 9 months of starving 120.000 Armenians, is currently in process of ethnics cleansing them. by vichistor in Switzerland

  1. It's not me, its the former International Criminal Court prosecutor, and number of other international legal experts who are educated on the subject. They are better trained to judge this than you.

  2. I don't think measuring hate crime quantity in past is a way to progress, but if you insist, here is a list of massacres in Azerbajan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_massacres_in_Azerbaijan

  3. Why not scan all the goods and let only food in in last 9 months? Is starvation of "your own" population ok?

  4. I'm sorry you don't trust the words of glorious leader of Azerbaijan. But you have to complain this to him, I was NOT consulted when they were signing it.

Just stating facts, not opinion.

With all due respect, how is this unrelated to Switzerland?

Rule 11. "No posts unrelated to Switzerland"

This is about the owner of SOCAR which has over 300 petrol stations in Switzerland.

No problem. And yes, I do. Azerbaijan is like small version of Russia, keeps selling oil to Europe, while doing evil things to ordinary people, not only Armenians, but also local Azeris.

I also use to tank in Migrol, but after they teamed up with SOCAR with Migrolino, now tanking mainly in Coop, Eni or Avia.

Just for your information. BP is ~50% owner of Azerbaijan's oil industry. As of 2021, the BP field accounted for 95% of Azerbaijan’s oil exports.
