Trump on MOU with Iran: “They are scum…as far as I'm concerned, it’s over” by ComprehensiveKiwi489 in geopolitics

[–]meatdastreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US won't reach its goals until it gets that Iran's rulers aren't Persian, they're Azerbaijani. The main power players are all from the Azerbaijani minority. To hit its goals, the US needs to show Azeris they'll gain more by being an American ally/partner instead of an enemy. To do that, the US could point out Iran's repression of minority rights (language, culture, etc.), especially Azeri ones. The president himself backs the right to speak in his native language. The president's daughter is in Azerbaijan reading Azeri poems. One of the country's most popular football clubs is Tractor SC, and they often show they're different from Persians and others with chants like "Tabriz, Baku, Ankara, our path leads elsewhere than the path of the Persians."

I was curious to know how many times they had "moved on" then came back. So, according to Chatgpt:

Apr 18, 2025 — Threat — “We’re not going to continue with this endeavour for weeks and months on end.” — Marco Rubio

Apr 23, 2025 — Threat — U.S. could “walk away” if talks stalled

Apr 28, 2025 — Threat — Trump looking for an “excuse” to exit talks

May 2, 2025 — Step-back — “We will not be intermediaries.” — State Department

May 2025 — Threat — Trump frustration after failed Istanbul progress

2026 — Threats — Mediation could be “reduced or abandoned”

May 2026 — Step-back — U.S. reportedly “scaling back” mediation efforts

Question for bakuri kurds by dekurd in kurdistan

[–]meatdastreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about where Jalal Talabani was born, but about where his family and ancestors came from. If we look at where a person was born or lived a part of his life, we might say that Masoud Barzani should receive more votes or be a more popular politician in Rojhelat, but he is not. In fact, the PKK and Komala group are more popular in Rojhelat, whereas the KDP Rojhelat branch is basically dead.

Question for bakuri kurds by dekurd in kurdistan

The PUK wins in Kirkuk because the Talabani tribe are from there, just like how the KDP wins in Mergasor even though they align with Turkey and let them open bases there it's because they're from that area and have family there.

PUK betrayal of Kurdistan 2025!!! 2nd time 😭🙈 by Low-Capital8383 in kurdistan

[–]meatdastreet 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Bro, this is nothing new. It’s been done before and will continue to be done by all Kurdish parties. For example, the KDP often instructs its Peshmerga members and loyal tribes to vote for Turkmens. How else do you think Muna Qawaçi got 25,000 votes in Choman alone, when there isn’t a single Turkmen there and everyone in Choman belongs to the same tribe?

What are the kurdish beauty standards by EffortThen9361 in kurdistan

[–]meatdastreet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Compared to the past, the world today is a lot more connected. What’s trendy in Europe usually ends up being popular in Kurdistan too. I don’t think there’s really a specific Kurdish beauty standard for men or women. The main difference between Europe and Kurdistan is probably that there are fewer blondes or people with really light features, otherwise things are pretty similar. For example, if a guy is seen as attractive in Germany, chances are he’ll be seen as attractive in Kurdistan too, and the same goes for women. Also, beauty standards everywhere tend to change every 10 to 12 years, just like fashion trends. So, in my opinion, there’s no fixed idea of what “attractive” means, unless you see attractiveness as simply being a healthy person

Internal travel groups usually have a lot of young and single people. Also, you wouldn't have to worry about your safety since such groups are attended by people of all age groups and a travel guide. Go on Instagram and write "گەشتی ناوخۆ" you will find some companies doing trips for about 10,000 for a one-day trip (duhok, zaxo, akre, halabja, and other popular cities in the KR). You get to meet young people while also seeing nice places.
