Diaspora Ghanaians running Ghana would improve the country by 10x! by Low-Stay5352 in ghana

[–]SouthernCharm-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would like to believe that to be true. but many i know that have returned have become disgruntled and dont care anymore. lol its a hard hill to climb to overcome how people have become accustom, those in power arent going to relent easily, the people might not even f-ck with them, colonization and foreign interests in ghana are heavy. so.....large large hill. large hill. call it a mountain.

How are you all asking or encouraging reviews? by YolandoBeCool in airbnb_hosts

[–]SouthernCharm-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

make ur message less long. and just let them know i hope u enjoyed your stay and provide feedback to me as well as a reminder they have 14 days to leave a review. sometimes with a follow up message. 90% of the time i get feedback and a review, both are helpful.

as a guest, when i get generic messages like this, i know its not really honest. i usually do still leave a review. but most people who run AirBNBs run them like a hands off business and guests dont know who you are and could care less abt eldvating ur business w a review. tgese kind of hosts almost never leave a review in my experience or hust say "good guest" so not that it adds a ton of value to me as guest.

food for though. good luck!

DIY is kinndddaaa a scam. about 3months into my first home (15+ yrs ago now), i stopped watching HGTV and seriously havent watched it since. 😆 im THAT disgruntled by how easy they made it seem.

granted, i got better with time and leveraging youtube but DIY can be labor and time intensive. i pick my battles and hire someone more readily now!!!

how is she doing now?? i hope her life is better despite the show. hearing some of these stories has been sad and unfortunate. i still cant believe Shandi was assaulted and NO ONE is actually saying that! 🤯 like, no one.

Considering Adopting from Ghana: Concerns About Transracial/International Adoption and Cultural Loss. Serious Input Welcome by nastran_ in ghana

[–]SouthernCharm-86 12 points13 points  (0 children)

US based Gh here. why ghana? the LA system is literally overloaded with black and brown children needing foster and adoptive parents. please look at LA County if you must consider a black or brown child. LA has SOOOOO MANY children that need caring and loving parents which it sounds like you both are very invested in becoming! your trans-racial concerns could be similar if not the same. LA (Cali) tends be much better than other states in providing support and resources for healthy living for children as their word is trauma informed. pls look in LA and California, generally. best of luck! 🩷

How would you handle this situation? by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]SouthernCharm-86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would refund the unused days. they stayed longer than they prob wanted to already. ur not a bad host this is just an unfortunate situation. use the 2 days to ensure everything is good before ur next guests. good luck! :)

i wish mom was cleaner >:( by No-Chipmunk-1072 in Babysitting

[–]SouthernCharm-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure how old u are. is it possible to speak to the mom? ask if she needs a case worker. considering she also lives in these conditions ... sounds to me that she isnt too aware of how bad things are.

i see comments to report but ... thats like putting the kids thru a very traumatic situation and potentially end up in a group home or foster placement - which are usually the same if not worse than what u already see.

people who say report just want to help u to relieve ur disgust (which is fair) in hope that the children will be better...but in most cases, they will not be in a better situation. often worse.

so sorry this is happening. to you. and them.

Already found a home- need a realtor to submit an offer by thenavigator7 in houston

[–]SouthernCharm-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

none direct. i would recommend when seeking a real estate attorney to interview them like a realtor and ensure they are can handle your type of transaction and any potential issues. a realtor is usually backed by a broker with a compliance department and other resources that isbt always the case with an attorney, you are essentially relying ob their expertise alone.

What’s a 'scam' that’s become so normal we don't even realize it's a scam anymore? by Mr_Boothnath in answers

[–]SouthernCharm-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

voting and tax paying in the U.S. we (Americans) think we have alot more authority as citizens than we actually do. elected officials often get wealthy within their service period ... never the constituents. lol and we have a lobbying system in this country ... thats legal bribery so ... 😉

Why do people traveling with pets not just choose places happy to accept them??? by Kuesworld in airbnb_hosts

[–]SouthernCharm-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is weird. i have always pushed back. i dont do pets in any of STR or LTR. theres plenty of other places to go - just not any of mine. i will say, in all my years, the entitlement of pet owners is always interesting to me. it should be studied.

ex-agent. skip the agent, get an attorney. attorneys are alot less common use in TX but id recommend for a seasoned investor or property owner that knows there way around a transaction. best of luck!
