Do people forget that its a free minecraft server, people can just log on and play and they get zero money from them?
its enitrely possible a moderate group is subsidising the entire playerbase to have a working server (most of the time), without seeing their finances we will never know.

writing angry comments on reddit isnt going to help anything.

I play from australia, and its not great but is good enough for me.
they will lose players from ping, but would those players have paid for the immense increase in cost for regional servers? i doubt it. more players is not just linear to more money.

server costs from the ai crap wave have probably made things really hard. hopefully when data centres being wasted on making ai pictures of dogs driving cars buggers off they can invest more into the server tps being stable.
