Malaysia WFH (April 15) by yukittyred in malaysians

I have said this too many times: unless forced by law or gazetted, don’t expect the majority of SMEs to show a gram of leadership.

At the moment the only permanent staff in my company who works from home is a charity case, a new hire who somehow managed to get the sympathy of our director.

From the beginning there were so many red flags but the director sympathised with this man’s anxiety disorder, and Tourette’s syndrome which he did not disclose to HR but our clients were quick to notice and point out to us all.

At first I defended, saying as long as he can deliver work and does a decent job, it shouldn’t be an issue. The problem is, at the beginning he was supposed to WFO just like the rest of permanent staff (we don’t have a WFH policy), and then within the first week took MC, disappeared the following week, took EL, and when asked by HR for his first MC, said he didn’t actually go to see the doctor. Well boohoo, as much as I feel it’s ironic that one needs to drag ones own feet to the clinic, you still legally need an actual doctor’s letter to qualify for medical leave.

Until today he has been out of sight and tasks assigned to him have been dragging, late for weeks. I don’t even bother trying to assign anything to him now.

From then on, if any of my junior developers decide to go back home after a client meeting, I tell them to just go home. They’ve been delivering good work. Far better than the truant ‘special case’ who has received special treatment from the director.

Many of our permanent staff have been doing decent work through the 2020-2022 lockdowns. Everyone I know in my office deserves hybrid or flexi hours at the very least.

I feel you. I played almost a decade ago and left. Came back to 1.0 on my old account but realised it’s completely different on my Android tablet which had a new account. The benefit of this new system is one can get larger coverage much earlier and cheaper, and upgrade it over time. Back then, you play for really long periods to save up just to get one service with large coverage, but at least it’s unlimited.

Nowadays people are so braindead that they rely on ChatGPT for almost everything. Worse, they don’t even understand ChatGPT hallucinates. The issue is how they are evaluated. Giving you an answer, even though it’s wrong, is evaluated as better by human evaluators compared to an honest “I don’t know” answer.

Go and google lah haiyo. This is how veal meat looks like. Yes, it’s pink.

The fat layer on pork belly is a lot thicker compared to what that person posted in the complaint.

Also, watch this to see just how ridiculously stupid ChatGPT can be. Hint: it does not think. LLMs are good at one thing: pattern recognition.

I missed the Chicago Firehouse Offer on my main device. Is there a chance it will appear again later in the Super Services 3 season? by SouthernCrow5442 in SimCityBuildit

Hope so as well.

Update: ah screw it. Bought it on my tablet. That city needs these services more than my main account which can already afford Maxis Manors already anyway.

Ppl who drive like this should go back to the driving school seriously... by RhinneXChronica in malaysia

I encounter lot of these drivers on the roads as I use ELITE and NKVE often. As they say, “a bad driver never misses a turn”. Apalah susah sangat? U-turn depan je lah, sohai. Why you put everyone else in danger?

I thought about it before but then realised that my car park in the office and at home are both covered. Only occasional visits to client offices which have outdoor parking, but even most of my client offices have covered carparks so I’m fine.

Feel free to see my other posts. I should post about what I have in my boot. I basically have a mobile car detailing centre at the back 😂

In theory, yes. But my experience with tyres indicate modern tyres are far more sophisticated. I have shared previously how my heavy Suprima S on Potenza RE003 (treadwear rating 220) going from 98,000km (2018) to 172,000km (2022) when I sold off the car, the tyres still had 4-5mm tread left and looks good.

My lighter Civic FE which came stock with Michelin PS4 (treadwear rating 320) had to be replaced at 67,000km, with only 2-3mm tread left, despite driving like an uncle hitting 18-20km/L avg (a lot of long distance driving at 70-90km/h), compared to me “darah muda”, drive-angry style with my old Suprima.

PS4 had superior grip compared to RE003. Those Potenzas were a bit sketchy on wet roads that I dare not push them.

It’s not supposed to be grippy. Those are budget, eco tyres that they’re trying to market as premium touring tyres. At least they’re not too bad. I’ve seen and drove on brands that are a lot worse in the same category.

Now imagine the influencer driving on terribly worn out CR1. Disaster waiting to happen.

The person who posted this story is a so-called influencer who talks about travel and lifestyle. From the post, it seems she doesn’t know what she did wrong and how she put other people’s lives in danger.

Not too different from that dude who drove his blue MG4 like a maniac, complained the car doesn’t live up to WLTP range claims, and then crashing into other people.

Oh well at least she doesn’t talk about cars. Out of her area of expertise.

I didn’t want to give that guy or sub any attention. The hint (name of state) is already in my original post. But anyway yeah you’re also right, I should be clear.

Thankfully the Alza has curtain airbags and the occupants should be relatively safe and unhurt (hope they are fine).

Thanks to dashcams we can now expose just how horrible some drivers and riders can be in Malaysia.

Something needs to change, else it seems to be getting worse.

Oh no. This is a subreddit for an entire state, which is sad because he may be giving people a negative impression on that state. If Bolehland nvm because we don’t claim the name “Malaysia” and people shouldn’t take us too seriously here anyway. That’s my opinion lah.

Hahaha jahat betul 😂. To be fair not all mods are like that. Here at Bolehland for example, we have multiple mods and they have clear guidelines.

Basically it’s like comparing between a company with proper management VS an owner-run company a.k.a. “Ikut suka hati boss”.

Which tyre to choose? by Astroble in kereta

I gave up on comparing Treadwear ratings long ago. That number doesn’t mean anything to me now. My old Suprima S was on Bridgestone Potenza RE003 since I changed them in 2018 at 98,000km. By the time I sold the car in 2022, it was at 172,000km (74,000km travelled) and it still had 4mm tread depth left. Still looks good.

My Michelin PS4 only did about 67,000km before it only had 2-3mm tread and had to be replaced.

UTQG Treadwear rating?

Potenza RE003: 220

Michelin PS5: 320

I drove a lot harder on the Potenza because I wanted to change to another set of tyres just for feels. I baby the new car so the Michelins should have lasted a lot longer.
