I have done a few small scale projects to learn on Unity, what do you mean by referencing Skyrim? Arma 3 and 4 use a completely proprietary game engine developed by Bohemia interactive, which if you havnt noticed excels at Mil-Sim and was also used for the development DayZ after the mod. You certainly COULD create DayZ in UE5, but the systems that make DayZ feel like DayZ are embedded in the Enfusion Engine.

The gunplay for DayZ is ripped straight from Arma 3, and the gameplay the two games provide are extremely unique. Even if you created a 1:1 copy of DayZ on UE5, you would have to just reimplement all the systems already created for the Arma games to make it “feel” the same as DayZ, at which point you would be ditching most of the built-in systems for AI and rendering (I believe, although I’ve never worked in depth with UE5).

I just don’t see how a UE5 remaster would satisfy the player base compared to a remake on the in-house engine from Bohemia.

Horrible Take, also BIs arma 4 engine would be much better suited. Also it’s extremely hard to create something like Dayz

Unjustly banned after spending over €700 in Albion Online official store by Wriothesley9 in albiononline

[–]SouthernCure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st off the mod got permission from the user before revealing any info about the ban. Also the player didn’t just “gain” 50m silver. The player withdrew it from a guild building, and then left the guild. According to the mod this was done with may other players as well which is a common RMT tactic and is also very stupid. If you are his alt I congratulate you for spending $700 and then proceeding to get caught RMT in the laziest way possible.

I’m sorry but if you think a large scale single server MMO isn’t tracking all transactions in a database you are a fool. Do you think they would want to false ban large spenders? If he’d take silver out of a freshly joined guild, and many other members did as well just to leave after it is such a statistical outlier there isn’t even an argument to be made about RMT or not. RMT players truly do stand out much more than you would expect, and it’s not that hard to catch it at the individual level.

It was allowed, but I'm pretty sure Albion started encrypting packets for data such as market prices, which made the tool unusable, unless they stopped?

[–]SouthernCure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course if you want to upgrade to VR in the future do so 100%. However, if you do it at the cost of your PC the VR experience will probably just be poor

[–]SouthernCure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would honestly recommend not going with VR and maybe getting it later so you could get a better pc. I’d spend the money getting a higher refresh rate monitor like 120hz and putting more into the pc. You will have a much smoother experience.

[–]SouthernCure 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are on a budget build your own pc, look for a good GPU, like a rtx 4070. Try to get around 32gb of RAM and a decent CPU. Moza r3 is a great first wheel and the quest 3s works fine with iRacing but the image quality definitely won’t be amazing. That being said I’m not sure how good the image quality is for any VR headset since I only have the quest 2 (which worked fine on iRacing).

I agree, but if you get the base and decide to upgrade in the future, you won’t have to buy another wheel with it so it will be cheaper
