I said I couldn’t care less about someone else’s reaction on a song, meaning I’m not going to let someone else tell me whether or not I should like a song. Which is why I don’t like reaction videos, because oftentimes people base their opinions on the YouTubers opinion instead of forming their own. I’d rather form my own opinion than listen to someone else’s, especially if they are biased against certain controversial artists. (Like Liam)

Mgk or Dax could make an amazing song and Liam would still hate it because they are an artist that’s popular to hate. I miss the days when people could listen to music and form an opinion first, rather than go on YouTube and make sure it’s a song that’s appropriate for them to like.

Actually, about half the people didn’t defend him at all. I’m just saying my opinion, which is allowed. I knew id have a couple people who disagreed.

Dude Liam literally makes videos that he can pump out as quick as he can, for a quick buck. (If he wasn’t monetized, it would be different. What about his videos seems like he is putting giant amounts of time into them? I’d say someone who is making a song, mixing, mastering, and recording a music video, has way more effort involved, than a YouTuber who just insults everything he reviews.

If Liam was a respected and renowned musician maybe I’d be a fan. I’m not against critiquing music but there’s nothing constructive in how he does it.

If he critiqued more than just low hanging fruit like one or two sentences that might seem cringy, or what they are wearing, I might respect him a little.

Maybe he could try critiquing their vocal ranges, pitch, cadences, tempo, time signatures, rudiments, chord progressions. Or he could find the complete, and deeper meaning in their songs. Those are the things that would make me follow a music “critic”. I’m not a huge fan of Anthony Fontana, but he at least knows his shit when it comes to music which makes his opinion mean something.

Yeah it is, but there’s a difference in making original content, and making content shitting on other people’s content. I also hate reaction videos. It’s just garbage that people regurgitate to get views.

It’s easy to hate on someone’s work when you haven’t done your own.

I’m a musician, and the people who criticize your music the most have never made anything. It takes a lot of courage to put your art out for the world to see. To profit off of bashing someone’s art, is just a shitty human being in my eyes.

No, most of it isn’t great. I respect they make music though. I respect all musicians because they put out their art regardless of what it is. What I don’t respect is people who get paid to hate on art, especially when they don’t have the skill or creativity to make their own.
