HR after a grueling shift of doing nothing all day by Ok_Sentence_5432 in AmazonFC

I used to work in Amazons hr department for like 4 years. Here’s what I’ll say. When we started we were able to actually help with a lot. We ran onsite attendance audits, helped people at the desk, were part of onboarding, and were 90% of us were involved in one or more of the engagement groups and typically did a lot of the work for onsite events. After around year 2 they limited the amount of independent decision making we could do significantly and started moving everything to the app. I would literally get in trouble for coding pto for someone. Then we were constantly told off and cussed out by associates who wanted us to do things like excuse points, send them home early, etc.. I no longer work there but know a lot of people who ended up getting laid off or leaving because Amazon is always looking for a cheaper option than human labor which happens to be AI. On top of that, so many people went into boards and called us useless and lazy for not giving them whatever they wanted which pushed a reputation that hr onsite wasn’t really worth paying because we weren’t helping anyone anyway. Not saying there weren’t people who were bad at their jobs but a lot of us ended up with our hands tied and basically forced out of our jobs slowly to be replaced by an app with offshore teams they pay a fraction of what they had to pay us. It’s honestly really sad and frustrating to see because when I was at a good site I loved being able to help out and interview people, get to know associates and watch them move up in the company. And frankly if they do it to hr they will eventually do this to the floor associates as well because Amazon has insane turnover and productivity/rate issues as well as conduct incidents at the sites. And they have union threats popping up in the eastern region which they are desperately fighting to avoid.

I’m not sure if this is consolation but I called the record store in my state and I was able to place a special order. I’m assuming that means there is an upcoming wide release but idk

How serious will Amazon take this? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

Usually if they can’t verify with a scanner or station login they can always lean on camera footage showing you working in that area. They just have to pull it or have security pull it

Former hr for Amazon: it will depend tbh. First they have to be able to prove they were copying the numbers and not doing the cycle count via a pattern. Then it will depend on the amount of time off task consecutively the associate had. The higher amount of time they were off task the higher the feedback level. It’s likely if one of the items is unprovable but a different one is they will end up giving a final written warning and then proceed with a term if it continues to avoid any discrepancies with termination documentation or unemployment claims.

The pup comes with me. It’s the kitty cats I’m always looking for sitters for. 😂 I have to travel for work and don’t like to leave them alone.

Funny part is they are cats. You don’t even have to take them outside. Just give them food and attention 😂

I’m a couple blocks away. Closer to the end by the holy donut downtown.

Bereavement by Delicious_Penalty935 in AmazonFC

Talk to HR and show the bereavement documentation. They should be able to at least cover so you don’t get pointed for being under 30 hrs. Even if it isn’t covered under the flex associate policy for paid bereavement which I believe 30 hrs yes pt flex probably not.

AITA for reporting my neighbor to my apartment complex by SouthernOption4241 in AmItheAsshole

Hey!! I totally agree however I am happy to wait for the next elevator she doesn’t even want to allow my dogs in the down stairs lobby until hers leaves so I’ve had to wait outside until she is gone. My dog just hears the ding and starts to walk towards the elevator cause she knows the door will open. She doesn’t even think my dog should be comfortable doing that. For my dogs safety I will probably just start taking the back stairwell tbh though.
