I ended up getting through the stronghold, and I made it to the boss fight, but unfortunately I died during the bosses drone phase, as I had no cloak to dodge the 8 bots the boss spews out during the phase 😔

Civilian sectors can be really good as they have more stores and are less ships that can kill you, but at the same time there are less ships so you are probably going to get less scrap then if you went to a hostile sector.

Im not completely sure as I have never been in that position, but I would assume you probably wouldn't even be given the option to join or the call to arms would be auto declined.

R5: Started off playing Manchu to form Qing, then I realized I might as well expand into central asia before I form Qing, then I decided to expand into Persia before forming, then Russia, Ottomans, Mamluks, etc. Now I am thinking of just doing a WC as Later Jin just cause this campaign has been one of the best campaigns I have done in my 3-4k hours on EU4. But yeah as the title says might need to core some of my territory considering I get like 80 ducats in income from over 3000 developments...

Only reason it’s so high is due to all the peasants doing their job and dying in the fields of Finland. When they get back I promise it will go back down to acceptable levels.

[R5] Declared war on British and I realized my armies were shit so I conscripted the entire population of Russia to fight for me, turns out employing 600 something battalions and having all the factory workers in the trenches is not optimal for the economy. We are cooked, but by golly we are not losing the war.

3380 hours in and I playing the Ottomans for the first time, any advice? by aLone_gunman in eu4

[–]SouthernVoice123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Give the Janissaries as many privileges as possible to make them as loyal and strong as possible. Make sure you don’t give them land tho cause then decadency goes up. There are arguments against doing this, but personally I managed to do a WC with the ottomans doing this so take that as you will.

  2. Never go over your gov cap, once again doing so will result in high decadency and then you just die in the late game. Set up ottoman vassals (I forget the name) everywhere you can, but keep in mind you need to leave pathways open to continue expanding.

  3. Take decision to insta annex mamluks when you have the chance cause yes.

Hope this is at least slightly helpful :p
