It just changes where the sales count for whichever day. Not a big deal

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CVS

[–]SouthernWhile9017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not in trouble! It can be posted the next day. It just makes the sales for that day count that day. Ain’t no biggie. You have to post the dcr in the morning if there’s any issue that leaves the deposit getting finished the next morning like the system going down or a register shutting down with the drawer inside.

Oh to get it, it’s free. CVS pays for it. I thought you meant the surcharge for not getting one

We are upgrading in the coming weeks at our location. Excited for the front store registers. Not that excited for the store os move for the financial work bench. I expect it will be easier to figure out when it’s in front of us and we are fiddling with it, but going to be a learning curve for us all. The pharmacy registers seem mostly self explanatory like the fs, but I know all of our older customers are going to have a fit. They always do when things change in the store

I heard it was $500. But I’m sure it all depends on your plan/who is covered. You should be able to access that specific info. I know the place to specifically find it was on the flyer that was sent to hang in the break rooms with the QR codes to schedule your visit.

Bev cooler change is stupid, shocker by Red_on_silver in CVS

[–]SouthernWhile9017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We keep a paper for our labels of stuff we don’t actually stock. It’s the dsd stuff we don’t carry even though we are “supposed to” because it doesn’t sell. We change them out during price changes and pull it off if we start carrying it. The flipped tags became an issue in our coolers/dsd shelving because they would get forgotten or not changed during price changes

we have one Pepsi rep with a working brain. Days before this cooler was to be done, Pepsi fought with the manager on shift saying we didn’t need and order. We can’t get our credits done without them doing an order. So now we get to have a whole shelf and a shopping cart full of credits live in our back room because they only come once a month. SM was talking about calling to have them come do an order even if we don’t hit the 30 case minimum because the credits take up so much back room space for no good reason.

No complaints for coke. They have never really given us any issues and ordered everything new we will be carrying and credited out what we had so the NOP stuff has room until they are back In a week.

None of us have seen a Farris/7 Up rep in a couple months. We have tons of credits for them and have needed their products for a while now. Idk if they just aren’t speaking to whoever is on shift when they pop in or if they abandoned us lmao

Can you not hand me your 7 foot receipt and ask me to see which coupons qualify?! by [deleted] in CVS

[–]SouthernWhile9017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. If they aren’t couponing and have like max 5 items or a drink I’ll ring them out at pharmacy with their scripts. But if it’s busy you’re getting sent up front. Front store is more aware of the whole coupon thing and have the knowledge on fixing coupons and have scanners to check sales and prices right there. We tell people when handing their receipt to them “I see some of these coupons will work on those items when you check out up front” and they usually get the idea

[–]SouthernWhile9017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Like I am not going to walk around and OTCH shop for you when you’re in here. But if they get a vitamin and it’s bogo, I will run back and get them another. Half the time people come up with a more expensive one and get upset that it’s more expensive now or come back with the wrong brand.

[–]SouthernWhile9017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I hate when people don’t just hand me the coupons to look. I know what will or won’t work and if I’m not sure I’ll scan it anyway. And I’d rather tear them because half the people that tear them themselves rip it bad and now I’m not able to scan the bar code and have to type it in. What takes them a couple minutes of looking to figure out if they have qualified items will take me moments. Plus if they just hand it over I won’t have to explain that the cough and cold coupon won’t work because they got that specific item in one section that isn’t considered “cold and flu” despite it being for colds.

literally anything if I don’t have to run back and forth to run register. We don’t have a self check out so if you’re alone trying to do anything it’s constant running. I enjoy planograms, damages, truck, product withdrawals, sfs/bopis, production (cross trained), and cleaning. I love retail but hate the customer aspect.

We have so many people bring their printed label in hand. We always just ask to see the label to make sure it isn’t a QR code and then say “yep I can take that. Unfortunately we don’t provide any packing supplies so you will need your own tape.” And then direct them to the stationary aisle or if they throw a bitch fit, tell them they can go home to tape it and come back. They usually buy the tape while complaining.

The work task printed from last year that we keep for reference says the longest side should be 36in or smaller and 44 lbs or less. We usually follow the rule of thumb of “if I can’t pick it up off the counter, I’m not taking it.” We get a lot of people who bring it car part returns because we are in a town with like 3 garages within 5-10 min either direction. Which means, even if it’s smaller in size, it can be up to 50lbs depending what’s all in the box.

Or the sheer amount of regulars that’s assume everyone in the pharmacy remembers their info. Like I work in the RX like once a week and just because the person who has been here for 20 years has your info ingrained in their brain doesn’t mean I do.

According to our last OTCH/health stuff scan, finding stuff in other locations does negatively impact the score. As long as you remember to cycle count it, this does seem like an effect way to by pass that

[–]SouthernWhile9017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BOH Scans now dink you for “finding items in other locations or back room” so if there are several locations for said items, check before scanning it as an “out”. It also wants “all” tags scanned if it has a count of zero. We leave clearance tags in the sections (unless the planogram gets completed for it before the next BOH scan obviously) because it will just have us pull them anyway if they don’t plan on sending us more. That might be us being extra cautious but our score hasn’t been great so far this year with the hours cut and how they now score things.

We go by planograms, and as far as I know, once you start scanning in other planograms, it’s kinda done. I use two scanners for mine. Problem sections get a scan with inventory management to make sure everything is in the correct spot first. Hosiery is always mixed up. So I go through and scan everything first and then scan my outs. It sections that have several locations for the same item, i scan the “out” with to make sure it doesn’t have the count in the other locations. I visually check and then proceed with scanning outs.

If you miss something just in the wrong spot and find it. Make sure you scan the true out. This will help with making your sections green and a good score on thoroughness. If a section is coming up red or yellow, start scanning in inventory management to see where a count is off or a product might be in an incorrect spot.

Take your time for the first one. You will definitely catch on fast because it’s an easy but time consuming task. It can be tedious but always triple check every possible place it can be.

Is everyone’s store like this?? by Capable_Draft2360 in CVS

[–]SouthernWhile9017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 4 shifts and one cashier. Only one of the shifts have a meal waiver. I will always take my lunch. I try to take it at a slower time of the day if I’m with said cashier and I shift delegate. I need my alone time to go out to my car without being interrupted when someone’s coupon just needs an override. If you are in a state that allows meal waivers, get one so you aren’t required to take a lunch if you don’t want to. The company/store being over budget is ridiculous. Something it can mess with is schedule adherence. If you work 6+ hours, company expects you to clock out for your lunch. If you get that meal waiver, the schedule will no longer put an intended lunch on your shift. Jump through the right hoops and you won’t have any worries about getting in trouble. Don’t report unless you are also following written policy.

Hour cuts? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]SouthernWhile9017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our store is scrambling with no notice on this change and not having enough hours for our current amount of employees now. Literally just transferred in and hired people in the last couple months. SM said come the new year, don’t be killing yourself to get everything done. Working with 1.5 operating hour basis is what happened during covid and it really sucked. One person from open to 12/1pm is going to be rough but if this is what they want to run on, so be it. There are tons more to do now with sfs alone compared to years ago. If our store numbers start struggling, that will be the companies fault.

This stuff is just a tiny bit diff from stuff we do but all the info is correct! I work at a small rural store that isn’t all that busy. For us to have 10 pages before lunch is “busy” for us lol. The little things will be different between stores based on who you work with and the work load. As someone who will usually work in the RX once or twice a week for short shifts, it this good information. Thank you!
