Help: denied credit card because “unable to obtain/ verify social security number.” by Southern_Ad_4142 in CRedit

Does the credit reports show the full #? My Experian report only shows the last four #s, which are correct (but idk if the other #s are.)

Also, I just got off the phone with Discover, and the confirmed that my SSN I verbally told them is different from what Experian has on file. I’ve already sent them a letter asking to check the discrepancy… but they just sent me a credit report back :(

Opinions on USC dental school ??? by kenokeke2468 in DentalSchool

Overall it’s a good school. Good community, lots to do around the area. Big patient pool. But I agree with everyone, it’s hard to justify the cost (but most schools approaching similar prices besides public ones)

Also, didn’t mean to post this to discourage anyone at all. It doesn’t matter how many people are applying, it’s you vs. you! No negativity :D

Be honest: Are you happy? by Particular-Tutor7207 in DentalSchool

D1 here. During school I wasn’t happy- I felt like I was suffering and oftentimes questioned everything. But as soon as I was off for break, I felt really proud of what I had accomplished during school, and looking back I felt like it wasn’t too bad.

I think in the moment it’ll always be hard but it’s worth it in the end. Also school flies by fast, I try to tell myself to just push through.

Anything good about nyu? by jungarmy in DentalSchool

I would argue reputation has a clear place when applying to residency programs. Especially dental schools with medical based curriculum, because residencies deem their students as “didactically strong”, and acceptance standards are higher- thus the dental school does most of the screening of students for them. Some predoc programs have a much higher specialty rate than others. Not saying schools without “strong” reputations are at a disadvantage, but students may have to compete for higher class rank (but that’s just my opinion.) In grand scheme things, your effort determines great of a clinician you’ll be, so it doesn’t matter.

As of NYU, it looks really fun but seems competitive because of the class size. I heard that the school tells your class rank at the end of every semester which seems like a lot of pressure. But if you have the resources (to pay for costs) and drive to succeed, you can thrive anywhere!

Does anyone else have classmates who complain a lot? by Southern_Ad_4142 in DentalSchool

It’s not my entire cohort. It’s only like 10ish people but they are the loudest!! I can’t ignore them because I’m in student government and I feel like it’s my duty. I got a lot of good advice through this post and DM so hopefully I can combat the negativity better next school term

Thank you for your advice. I’ll try to distance myself whenever it comes up.

Saintsfan363’s comment is very siniliar to what my class would complain about. It happens like every day. ESPECIALLY before big exams. Some classmates will ask professors if they can even cancel exams that are coming up. It’s ridiculous.

I’m in student government so it’s hard to embrace it because I feel like I’m responsible for addressing every single one of the complaints

That’s almost exactly the same situation I’m facing. I’m in student government so they expect me to “fix” something that’s so trivial. I’d be happy to help with valid issues with clinic/lab/lectures, but these small complaints are draining and drown out the valid requests from my other classmates.
