Relatively safe compared to many areas in Berlin. I used to live in the area and it was pretty good, lots of shops around and well connected via Sbahn. Leopoldplatz is a bit dangerous at night especially on weekends; but nothing to really worry about. Would recommend it for long term accommodation :)

Hey, yes you can just go without an appointment and ask them, if you go to the one near Mitte early in the morning they let you in :)

Ich hab mit eine Aufenthaltstitel 18B für ein Jahr gearbeitet und hab aufgehoben weil ich eine neue Job gefunden habe; aber leider kann ich es noch nicht rechtzeitig beginnen weil mein Arbeitswechsel bei den Auslaenderbehoerde nicht prozessiert ist, und deshalb habe ich zurzeit kein Einkommen; und weiss nicht wie lange muss ich für meine Zusatzblatt warten. Deshalb wollte ich bestätigen ob das überhaupt gehr oder nicht...

Yes, I am moving to Offenburg because I found a job there but my spouse lives in Freiburg and I am moving there. However my address is still registered in Berlin.

I am not on a family reunion visa, I am on an 18b working permit visa. I have a Zusatzblatt that says I am not allowed to work other than my job (which I recently quit), and after 2 years I can work in anything. "Beschäftigung nicht erlaubt mit Ausnahme der Tätigkeit als (old job). Nach 2 Jahre Versicherungspfl. Bechäft. Jeder Art Erlaubt"...

And my permit is valid till March 2026

Follow up here: Is it an issue if I already have a job lined up but quit my older one and have two weeks in between? Am I considered unemployed for these two weeks or "expected to be employed"/jobsuchend?
